Memorial Day is a time to pause and reflect on the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It is more than a long weekend or a break in routine. It is a moment to recognize the weight of what was given so that others could have the freedom and opportunities they live with today.

It is difficult to fully put into words the magnitude of that sacrifice, but it is something that should never be overlooked or taken for granted. Behind every name is a family, a story, and a life that meant everything to someone.

At J. Zollo & Associates, we take this day to express deep gratitude for those who served and gave everything, and for the families who continue to carry their memory forward with strength and resilience.

Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to build, grow, and move forward in the lives and businesses we have today. That is not something we take lightly. 🇺🇲 ❤️🤍💙

We remember them with respect, gratitude, and appreciation.

Please note that our office will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Bookkeeping is often viewed as a routine administrative task, but in reality, it plays a much larger role in how a business operates and grows. Accurate financial records do more than track transactions, they provide insight, clarity, and direction.

At J. Zollo & Associates, bookkeeping is not just about keeping things updated. It is about helping business owners understand what their numbers are actually saying so they can make better, more informed decisions.

When bookkeeping is done properly, it stops being a back-office task and becomes a tool for strategy and growth.

How do you currently view bookkeeping in your business, as a task or a tool? 👇

Falling behind on your books rarely happens all at once. It usually starts small—skipping a week, putting it off during a busy period, or telling yourself you’ll catch up later. Over time, that delay builds into something that feels overwhelming.

At J. Zollo & Associates, we understand that bookkeeping often gets pushed aside in favor of more immediate priorities. The challenge is that the longer it’s left unattended, the more complicated it becomes to fix.

The goal is not perfection—it’s consistency. And when consistency slips, getting support in place can make all the difference in getting back on track.

I want to hear from you — what is the biggest reason you find yourself falling behind on your books? 💭

Mother’s Day has a way of making you stop and really think about everything mothers carry, often quietly, often without credit, and most of the time without complaint. It is the early mornings when everyone else is still asleep, the late nights after everything else is taken care of, and the constant weight of making sure everyone else is okay before themselves🌷

It is not just one role. It is many. It is provider, protector, problem-solver, comfort, teacher, and so much more all at the same time, every single day.

What makes it even more powerful is how often it goes unnoticed in the moment. Not because it is unseen, but because it becomes so consistent that it starts to look effortless, even though it never is.

Today is for the appreciation that does not always get said out loud. For the gratitude that gets lost in routine. And for the reminder that the strength behind motherhood is something truly extraordinaryđź’›

Happy Mother's Day to all of the strong, resilient and beautiful Moms out there. Rest, recover and enjoy today — you've earned it!

There is a difference between generating revenue and truly understanding your financial position. Many business owners are bringing in money, staying busy, and still feeling uncertain about where they stand.

At J. Zollo & Associates, we work with clients who initially feel this exact way. Without accurate and up-to-date books, important decisions often rely on assumptions rather than facts.

When your financials are clear, everything shifts. You gain the ability to make informed decisions, identify opportunities, and operate with confidence rather than hesitation.

Heads up 📦

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced an 8% surcharge on select shipping services, effective April 26, 2026 through January 17, 2027, citing rising fuel costs.

Additionally, starting May 7, 2026, USPS will update rates for Ground Advantage and Priority Mail prepaid labels to reflect this new fuel surcharge.

So what does this mean for businesses?

For companies that rely heavily on shipping—especially small businesses and e-commerce brands—these changes can significantly impact operating costs. Increased shipping expenses may affect profit margins, pricing strategies, and even customer expectations around delivery fees.

Now is a great time to:
• Review your current shipping strategy
• Evaluate whether adjustments to product pricing or shipping fees are needed
• Communicate transparently with customers about potential changes
• Explore bulk shipping options or alternative carriers if necessary

Staying proactive can help minimize the impact and keep your operations running smoothly.

If your business depends on shipping, planning ahead now can make all the difference.

Tax season is over… now what?

For many business owners, this is the moment when finances go back on the back burner — but this is actually one of the most important times to stay proactive.

Now is the time to:
🔹 Review what went well (and what didn’t)
🔹 Clean up and organize your financial records moving forward
🔹 Set up a consistent bookkeeping routine
🔹 Start planning ahead for next year — not next April

Staying organized year-round not only makes next tax season easier but also helps you make clearer, more confident financial decisions every single day. Businesses that feel the least stress during tax season are those that stay prepared all year long.

If this year felt rushed or overwhelming, take that as your sign not to repeat the same patterns or practices.

Start now, stay consistent, and give yourself a smoother path forward.

📲 Contact our team today to find out how we can help ease the stress that comes with tax season!

This is your friendly reminder: the tax deadline is this Wednesday, April 15th.

If you haven’t filed yet, now is the time to take action.

Before the deadline, make sure you:
✔️ Have all necessary documents ready
✔️ Reviewed your income and expenses
✔️ Confirmed your filing status
✔️ Asked any last-minute questions

Waiting until the very last minute can lead to errors, missed details, or unnecessary penalties.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, that’s completely normal—but ignoring it won’t make it go away. Take a few moments today to double-check where you stand so you can move forward with confidence.

And if you need guidance, our team is here to help you navigate the final steps.
