Are you keeping an eye on your turnover?

The VAT threshold is currently £90,000, and going over it without taking the right action can lead to penalties and unexpected costs.

🔹 The £90k threshold is based on a rolling 12-month period… not your financial year (this catches a lot of people out!)
🔹 If you expect to exceed £90k, you must register for VAT within 30 days of the month you go over
🔹 VAT returns are usually submitted quarterly using Making Tax Digital (MTD) compatible software
🔹 HMRC operates a points based penalty system for late submissions
🔹 Failing to register on time can result in fines and HMRC reclaiming VAT on past sales
