As TDP prepares to celebrate 50 years in business on 12 November 2026, it is fitting that we hear from the person who started it all.

In 1976, at the age of 24, Willem Theron opened the doors of a small accounting practice in Middelburg. That practice would grow into Theron du Plessis, known today as TDP Chartered Accountants and Auditors. Willem would later go on to co-found PSG Konsult, helping to build one of South Africa's leading financial services groups.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we are honoured to share a message from our founder. We also look forward to learning many more lessons in the months leading up to our 50th anniversary from an entrepreneur whose vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire us today.
