The Prince William Art Society is thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Artist Spotlight and Talk featuring our Vice President, Tinnetta Putney (formerly Bell).
Tinnetta is a celebrated contemporary realist artist and portrait photographer whose work beautifully bridges fine art and modern imagery. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Art, she has spent more than two decades capturing the beauty and individuality of her subjects. Exhibiting in galleries across the United States and earning recognition through national art platforms, as well as receiving the prestigious 2021 Fire Award for Achievements in the Arts. While her photography portfolio includes cover work for New York Times best-selling books and features in Essence and Black Enterprise Magazine, Tinnetta is currently focusing her creative energy on a specialized fine art practice.
In her graphite work, Tinnetta explores the quiet, formal beauty of the human subject. Setting aside conceptual narratives, she prioritizes the raw visual experience: the weight of a shadow, the harmony of contrast, and what she calls "color without color." Join us for an evening of inspiration as Tinnetta shares her disciplined layering process, from foundational sketch to the final map of a wrinkle and discusses the timeless complexity of the people she portrays.
