GRAND OPENING FOR PICKLR—NEW INDOOR PICKLEBALL FACILITY SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 7 at 1:30 PM

The Picklr Scarsdale, Greenburgh’s new premium indoor pickleball destination, is officially open and will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, November 7, 2026, with a grand opening ceremony at 1:30 PM. The community is invited to explore the club, try pickleball and enjoy an afternoon of activities for players and families.

The celebration will feature a live DJ, a food truck, raffle giveaways, quick open play games and more. Town of Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner will join owners Heather Rhyu and Noah Allen for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the club’s arrival in the community. Visitors can tour the facility, meet the team and learn about membership options and upcoming programs.

Located at 1019 Central Park Avenue in the former Buy Buy Baby space, the 22,000-square-foot club features eight dedicated indoor pickleball courts, including a championship-sized court, professional-grade court surfacing, a pro shop and space for private events.

Locally owned and operated by Westchester residents Heather Rhyu and Noah Allen, The Picklr Scarsdale combines their experience in fitness, racquet sports and community-focused programming.

“We are incredibly excited to officially open our doors and bring this experience to Westchester,” said Heather Rhyu, co-owner of The Picklr Scarsdale. “Having spent years building fitness businesses in this community, I know firsthand how much people value spaces that bring them together. Our vision is to create a welcoming place where people of all ages and abilities can play, improve, compete and connect.”

Rhyu owns four Club Pilates studios and a Rumble Boxing studio in Westchester. Allen, a longtime tennis professional and coach with more than 25 years of experience, brings his expertise in racquet sports and player development to the club.

“Our goal is to create more than just a place to play pickleball,” said Noah Allen, co-owner of The Picklr Scarsdale. “We want to build a community where beginners feel comfortable trying the sport, experienced players can find great competition and everyone feels welcome.”

The club offers open play for multiple skill levels, competitive play, private lessons, instructional clinics, leagues, tournaments and junior programming. The club also hosts a variety of private events, including corporate team-building outings, birthday parties, and group celebrations, offering a fun and unique way to bring people together through pickleball. The Picklr Scarsdale officially opened to the public on October 17, 2026, and welcomes members and non-members alike.

I am very excited about this new indoor Pickleball facility. Central Ave, with fitness centers, two golf simulator businesses and now a Pickleball facility is becoming a destination point for residents who like exercise and recreation activities. We’re making Central Ave a fun place to spend time at.

Vote early on Friday. Get a flu vaccine at Greenburgh Town Hall 8 AM to 4 PM
Every year, during early voting, The Westchester Community Health Center provides early voters and Greenburgh employees with flu vaccines.
The Health Center’s decision to offer flu shots to early voters can be recognized as an example of public health meeting people where they are. The Health Center deserves to be commended for taking their flu shot program to a place that people are already going to. People are participating in early voting. The Greenburgh Town Hall voting location is one of the busiest early voting sites in Westchester. We are thrilled that people are participating in democracy and want our residents to stay healthy so they can continue to be involved in making our community a better place.
The Westchester Community Health Center (previously called the Greenburgh Health Center) does a major job keeping Greenburgh residents healthy.
PAUL FEINER
Greenburgh Town Supervisor
Dear Mr. Feiner,
Flu shots can reduce the risk of flu and its potentially serious complications. The health center has provided this service to residents every year since early voting started.

Our mobile unit will be available on Friday 10/30 between 8:am and 4pm to administer flu shots to early voters.

October 26, 2026 @ 4:06 PM
The boil water advisory has been lifted by the Westchester County Health Department for all customers in the following areas in the Town of Greenburgh served by Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1
Test results of water samples taken by the town of Greenburgh were satisfactory.

Since Friday, October 23, 2026, these residents and businesses were strongly advised to boil all tap water at a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute prior to drinking or using it to prepare food, wash dishes by hand or brush teeth. The boil water advisory was issued as a precaution to protect residents from potential contamination caused by ground water infiltration into water mains as a result of the reduction in water main pressure caused by the water main break/repair.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1 at (914) 989-1900 or Westchester County Health Department at (914) 813-5000. https://alrt.se/u/Y3DILs7Vep

Greenburgh Achieves Bronze Climate Smart Communities Certification!

We are so very proud to announce that the Town of Greenburgh has achieved Bronze Certification under New York State’s Climate Smart Communities (CSC) Certification Program!

This recognition reflects the Town’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and climate resilience. Greenburgh was one of 21 communities statewide to receive Bronze certification in the latest round.

The achievement recognizes concrete steps being taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency, protect natural resources, and prepare our community for climate-related challenges such as extreme heat, flooding, and severe storms.

“Achieving Bronze Certification is a proud milestone for Greenburgh and a testament to the dedication of our incredible team. This recognition reflects the important work already underway and gives us a strong foundation to continue building a more sustainable and resilient community,” said Garrett Duquesne, Commissioner of Community Development and Conservation.

We look forward to building on this achievement and continuing to work toward a greener, healthier, and more resilient Greenburgh. Visit our website, and get involved đź’š

TOMORROW—INSERTION OF VALVE FOR WATER MAIN ON EAST HARTSDALE AVE 7:30 PM TO 11 PM---EXPECT SOME INCONVENIENCES

Tomorrow evening, October 21st, the town will be inserting a valve for our water main on E Hartsdale Avenue between 7:30 pm to 11 pm. We are starting the work after rush hour. There will be no jackhammering during this time. If you are driving on E Hartsdale Ave expect some delays. There will be no disruptions of water tomorrow evening.

NO WATER ON OCTOBER 27 FROM 10 PM TO 4 AM FOR 100, 107, 111, 119 EAST HARTSDALE AVE

The Water Dept is planning to repair the broken valve on the domestic water line for 100 E.Hartsdale Ave on Tuesday night October 27 between 10pm and 4am. This repair will result in an interruption of water service to the following addresses on E.Hartsdale Ave.

We will contact the building superintendents to inform them of the work and water shut down.

Once this work is completed residents will see significant progress on the sewer repair which we hope will be completed in January 2027. I have asked that we provide residents with a weekly report listing what residents can expect to take place during eachweek.

Today and tomorrow – we are adding some safety features to the barricades (more lighting). The Greenburgh police plan to assign an officer to the area where work is being done during more hours each day until work is completed on the repairs. Feel free to provide the Town Board with your feedback and suggestions. E mail [email protected]. I also would like to see more ticketing of cars that drive through blinking crosswalks –putting pedestrians at risk.

If we all work together, we will get through the inconveniences, and the Avenue will be better and safer than ever. We have lots to look forward to---a new supermarket, new stores on E Hartsdale Ave, merchants who will be setting up voucher systems so when you shop you won’t have to pay for parking. The Planning Department has been working on implementing safety features on E Hartsdale Ave (scheduled for 2027/2028) and a new sidewalk on W Hartsdale Ave to the library (construction to take place 2027/2028).
