💚🩺💰 LET'S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAUGHT YEARS AGO!

We spend years learning how to earn money, but how much time do we spend learning how to manage it, protect it, and build wealth with it?

We work. We pay bills. We raise families. We build businesses. We save for retirement.

But are we actually building a financial strategy?

As a Registered Nurse and Financial Strategist, I've learned something important:

What happens to your HEALTH can change everything about your WEALTH.

A diagnosis can interrupt your income.

A disability can change your retirement plans.

A long-term care need can affect the assets you've spent decades building.

And making six figures doesn't automatically mean you're building wealth.

That's why I created this platform.

Not simply to talk about financial products, but to EDUCATE, EMPOWER, and encourage people to ask better questions.

Because financial literacy is not a one-time conversation.

IT'S A WAY OF LIFE!

And here's where I want YOU to join the conversation. 👇🏾

💰 What's one financial lesson you wish someone had taught you earlier in life?

Was it understanding credit? Taxes? Investing? Insurance? Retirement? Building assets?

I'm building a community where we can learn, ask questions, and have the financial conversations that matter.

Grateful to be asked to speak and be in rooms where leaders step up and step in to bring information to the community. Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminded me why proactive planning matters — for our health, our wealth, and our families, before a crisis forces the conversation. 🚨💰 **YOU HAVE A 401(k)… BUT DO YOU HAVE A RETIREMENT STRATEGY?**

Let me ask you something.

You've been working for 20, 30, maybe even 40 years.

Every paycheck, money goes into your 401(k).

You check your balance, watch it grow, and tell yourself, **“I'm saving for retirement.”**

But here's the question…

**DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY YOU'LL ACTUALLY NEED TO RETIRE?**

Having a 401(k) is a great start, but having a retirement account and having a retirement strategy are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!

Think about it.

💰 How much monthly income will you need when your paycheck stops?

💰 How long will your retirement savings need to last?

💰 How will taxes affect your withdrawals?

💰 What happens when inflation increases your living expenses?

🩺 Have you calculated your future healthcare costs?

💰 What happens if the market declines just as you're preparing to retire?

And here's another question…

**WHAT IF YOU LIVE LONGER THAN YOUR MONEY?**

Your 401(k) is a retirement savings vehicle. It's not automatically a complete retirement income plan.

And while long-term investing can help build retirement savings, you still need to understand how those savings will support your lifestyle when you stop working.

**RETIREMENT IS NOT JUST ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU ACCUMULATE. IT'S ABOUT HOW YOU PLAN TO USE AND PROTECT WHAT YOU'VE BUILT.**

As a nurse and financial strategist, I believe retirement planning and healthcare planning should be part of the SAME conversation.

Because a healthcare crisis can quickly become a financial crisis.

**DON'T JUST SAVE FOR RETIREMENT. DEVELOP A STRATEGY TO STAY RETIRED.**

📲 **READY TO REVIEW YOUR RETIREMENT STRATEGY?**

Let's discuss your retirement goals, healthcare concerns, and financial protection needs.

💰👑 **CASH IS KING! BUT WHO'S REALLY CONTROLLING THE CASH?**

We've all heard the saying, **“Cash is King.”**

But here's what they don't tell you…

**IT DEPENDS ON WHICH SIDE OF THE CASHFLOW QUADRANT YOU'RE ON!**

I was listening to Robert Kiyosaki, and it reminded me of something we don't discuss enough.

Not everyone plays by the same financial rules.

💼 **E — EMPLOYEE:** You work for money. Your income generally depends on your employment.

💼 **S — SELF-EMPLOYED:** You own your job. If you stop working, your income may stop too.

🏢 **B — BUSINESS OWNER:** You build systems and teams that can generate revenue without requiring your constant involvement.

📈 **I — INVESTOR:** You put capital to work through assets with the potential to generate income and build wealth.

Now here's the question…

**ARE YOU WORKING FOR MONEY, OR ARE YOU BUILDING SOMETHING THAT CAN MAKE MONEY WORK FOR YOU?**

Because earning six figures doesn't automatically mean you're wealthy.

Having a business doesn't automatically mean you're building assets.

And having money coming IN doesn't mean you're keeping it.

**CASH FLOW MATTERS. OWNERSHIP MATTERS. STRATEGY MATTERS.**

Each quadrant comes with different opportunities, responsibilities, tax considerations, and financial risks.

And here's the part I want you to understand:

**There's no one-size-fits-all financial strategy!**

What works for an employee may not work for a business owner.

What works for a business owner may not work for an investor.

That's why understanding the rules of money is so important.

Financial literacy isn't just about learning how to save or budget.

It's about understanding how money flows, how assets work, how taxes affect your decisions, and how to position yourself financially.

**DON'T JUST CHASE THE MONEY. LEARN HOW MONEY WORKS!**

Because financial literacy isn't a one-time lesson.

**IT'S A WAY OF LIFE.** 💚

🎯 **TODAY'S MONEY PULSE QUESTION:**

**Which quadrant are you currently in — E, S, B, or I? And which one are you working toward?**

🎀 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH — THIS ONE IS PERSONAL. 💗

My mother is a breast cancer survivor of approximately 14 years, and every year I thank God that she's still here. 🙏🏾

But her diagnosis taught me something important.

A cancer diagnosis doesn't just affect the patient. It can affect the entire family—medically, emotionally, and FINANCIALLY.

As a nurse, a daughter, a mother, and a financial strategist, I understand why these conversations matter.

Having health insurance does NOT automatically mean every expense associated with cancer treatment will be covered.

What happens when you can't work?

Who replaces your paycheck?

Who pays the mortgage, utilities, and everyday living expenses?

What about deductibles, copayments, out-of-pocket expenses, transportation, and caregiving?

A medical diagnosis can quickly become a financial crisis.

And let's talk about FAMILY HISTORY.

My mother was the first in our family diagnosed with breast cancer. As her daughter, I have a family history that may affect my risk, and my daughters need to know that history too.

My oldest daughter is 18, and she needs to understand the importance of communicating that her grandmother is a breast cancer survivor to her healthcare providers.

Know your family history. Discuss your personal risk with your physician. Stay current with recommended screenings and preventive care.

Don't wait for a diagnosis to discover the gaps in your healthcare coverage or financial protection.

🎀 Know your body.
🎀 Know your family history.
🎀 Know your healthcare coverage.
🎀 Know your financial protection.

HEALTHCARE PLANNING IS FINANCIAL PLANNING.

💗 Today, I celebrate my mother, honor every survivor, support those currently fighting, and remember those we've lost.

📲 LET'S START THE CONVERSATION.

Do you understand your healthcare benefits and how your family would be financially protected if a serious illness interrupted your income?

🚨 BUSINESS OWNERS: ARE YOU PAYING FOR TAX PREPARATION OR TAX STRATEGY?

Let me ask you something.

Every year, millions of people gather their receipts, W-2s, 1099s, business expenses, and financial records and hand everything over to their tax preparer.

Their taxes get filed. They pay their bill. And they move on.

But here's the question nobody seems to be asking:

WHO'S ACTUALLY HELPING YOU PLAN?

There's a BIG difference between tax preparation and tax planning.

📌 Tax preparation focuses on accurately reporting your income, deductions, credits, and tax obligations.

📌 Tax planning looks at your financial decisions throughout the year to identify legitimate opportunities to manage taxes and prepare for future obligations.

Are you reviewing your business structure?

Are you understanding how your income is taxed?

Are you evaluating retirement contributions?

Are you tracking deductions and expenses properly?

Are you building assets, or simply generating income and paying bills?

Making money and keeping money require different strategies.

And here's something else:

Just because you have an accountant doesn't automatically mean you have an ongoing tax strategy.

You have to ASK the questions. You have to understand what services you're receiving.

TAX PLANNING IS A YEAR-ROUND CONVERSATION, NOT JUST AN APRIL APPOINTMENT.

Financial literacy is about understanding how money works, how taxes affect your decisions, and how to build a strategy around your financial goals.

Don't just file your taxes. Understand your financial position.

That's your MONEY PULSE for today! 💚💰

🚨 THE NEXT HEALTHCARE CRISIS MAY NOT HAPPEN IN A HOSPITAL. IT MAY HAPPEN IN YOUR OWN HOME.

Let's talk about something families are not preparing for enough.

WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU CAN NO LONGER TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?

Millions of aging adults rely on unpaid family caregivers, many of whom are women.

But here's the conversation we're NOT having.

What happens when Mom develops dementia?

What happens when Dad has a stroke?

What happens when your spouse can no longer bathe, dress, prepare meals, or manage medications independently?

Who steps in?

The daughter? The spouse? The children?

And here's the bigger question:

WHO TAKES CARE OF THE CAREGIVER?

As a nurse, I've seen firsthand how a healthcare crisis can change the dynamics of an entire family.

Adult children leave their jobs. Spouses reduce their working hours. Families use their savings. Retirement plans get interrupted.

And sometimes, the person providing care is sacrificing their own financial future.

This is why I continue to say:

🩺 HEALTHCARE PLANNING IS FINANCIAL PLANNING.

Long-term care isn't just a nursing home conversation.

It's about aging in place, home care, family caregiving, protecting income, preserving assets, and understanding who will provide care when it's needed.

And having health insurance or Medicare does NOT mean all your long-term care needs will be covered.

Financial literacy is about understanding the risks BEFORE they become your reality.

Ask yourself:

💚 If I needed care tomorrow, who would provide it?

💚 Could my family afford that care?

💚 Would someone have to leave their job?

💚 What would happen to our retirement savings?

💚 Do we have a plan, or are we assuming our children will figure it out?

YOUR CHILDREN SHOULD BE PART OF YOUR LEGACY, NOT YOUR ENTIRE LONG-TERM CARE PLAN.

Don't wait for the diagnosis.

Don't wait for the hospital discharge.

Don't wait until the family is in crisis.

HAVE THE CONVERSATION NOW.

Another great moment from the Baldwin Festival with New York State Senator Siela A. Bynoe and fellow members of our community.
This is why I believe in showing up.

This is bigger than business. It's purpose. It's people. It's community.

81 YEARS OLD.
STILL WORKING.
NOT BECAUSE RETIREMENT FAILED — BECAUSE LIFE HAPPENED.

This is exactly why I keep saying healthcare planning and retirement planning cannot be two separate conversations.
This is Don Johnson. He's 81 years old.
A doorbell camera captured him carrying heavy luggage up a flight of stairs while working as an independent contractor.
But here's the part I want you to pay attention to.
His wife is battling cancer. Their expenses have increased, and Don says that although he appreciates what their insurance covers, it doesn't cover everything.
NBC Dallas-Fort Worth
So at 81 years old, instead of simply enjoying retirement with his wife, he's working—sometimes putting in 14-hour days.
NBC Dallas-Fort Worth
And THIS is the conversation we don't have enough when we're planning for retirement.
We talked about the 401(k).
We talk about Social Security.
We talk about pensions.
But what happens when somebody gets sick?
What happens when treatment, prescriptions, transportation, caregiving, and everyday living expenses start hitting the household at the same time?
Retirement planning isn't only about accumulating enough money to stop working.
It's about building a strategy that can withstand life happening after you stop working.
This isn't about criticizing this family. Their story is a reminder for the rest of us to ask better questions before we reach retirement.
If a major health crisis happened at 70, 75, or 80… would your retirement strategy still work?
