Few names in American furniture are as respected as Stickley. I recently completed an insurance appraisal for several outstanding Stickley pieces, including:

Stickley Three-Door Buffet with matching Three-Door China Top, part of the Harvey Ellis Collection, $20,538.00.

Stickley Mission Trestle Base Dining Table with 2 leaves and 6 chairs, $18,000.00.

Stickley Mission Spindle Loveseat with burgundy leather, $7,100.00.

Stickley Console Cabinet part of the Harvey Ellis Collection, $5,135.00.

Stickley furniture is a renowned American brand founded in 1900 by Gustav Stickley, who became a leader of the American Arts and Crafts movement. The brand is famous for its "Mission" style, which features clean, straight lines and high-quality solid woods like quartersawn white oak. Their pieces are built to last for generations using traditional techniques such as mortise-and-tenon joinery and hand-rubbed finishes. Today, Stickley continues to manufacture its furniture in New York and North Carolina.

David Schlueter is a USPAP Certified Antique Appraiser serving the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. He provides verbal and written appraisals for antiques, art, jewelry, coins, furniture, collections, and estates.

THE ART THAT SCARED THE N***S - The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) has unleashed an exhibition that isn't just about paintings - it’s about the collision between creative fire and cold-blooded power. This exhibition features more than 70 paintings and sculptures from the collections of the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, Germany. I thought it was a moving exhibit of courage!
