I truly enjoyed the annual Wealth seminar hosted by the Memphis Black Chamber on Friday, October 3rd !
It was a honor to attend with curious business owners from start ups , to stabilized, to scaled businesses .
Here’s a few of my key takeaways!
-How to apply to become a certified vendor with the state of Tennessee
- How to apply as a certified vendor with the City of Memphis
- How to submit your business as a small business enterprise with the City of Memphis
- and the one that took my breath away ..creating a non profit and subcontracting your for profit business as a service provider as an investment strategy. Whew !
-and guess what ..on the capital stack panel , the panelists emphasized CORRECT FINANCIALS, BALANCE SHEET trumps PROFIT and LOSS when it comes to funding evaluation..and the importance of a good accountant!
It’s Q4 - what are you doing to position your business for 2027?
If you don’t have professional bookkeeping services in place , NOW is the time to start inquiring.
If you’re a black owned business in Memphis and not part of the chamber, you’re missing out …and you don’t have to be a member to take advantage of their workshops and seminars! (small fees do apply)
