Thomas E. Goodson Accounting Practitioner

Goodson started working for his father's accounting firm in 1960 when he was 10 years old. His father, Robert H. Goodson, worked for the IRS for 3 years and started his firm during 1948 after he saw the need to help individuals and businesses understand tax laws. The first office was located in a small guest house on Goodson Road. Over the years, as business grew and more space was needed, the off

ice moved to several locations downtown until it reached its current location on 4th street. Tommy's first job in the office, at age 10, was making copies of tax returns...thousands of tax returns! Goodson told Tommy he would give him the company if he would study accounting, so in 1969, Tommy entered Clemson University. After obtaining his degree in Accounting in 1973, Tommy worked along side his Dad until his death in 1976. At the young age of 26, Tommy had the task of owning and operating the accounting firm. The firm has now enjoyed almost 70 years of success. Now Tommy's son, Tom, is part of the firm. He received a degree in financial management from Clemson University in 2002 and has been working here ever since. We have enjoyed our great clientele over the years and feel that all our clients are like family. Our staff is very dedicated and loyal and we appreciate the opportunity to serve the Hartsville area.
