🚨 How to Spot IRS Scams 🚨

We’ve all heard the stories about scammers pretending to be the IRS, but how can you tell if it's really them reaching out or just another fraudster trying to get your info?

Here are a few important red flags to keep in mind:

The IRS NEVER calls to demand immediate payment. If they contact you, it’s usually through a letter first.

They won’t ask for payment via gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfer. This is a major scam sign!

Threatening language? The IRS doesn’t use aggressive tactics like saying you’ll be arrested or have your property seized immediately.

Check the sender! The IRS will always send official correspondence through the US Postal Service—not by email or text.

Never give out personal info unless you’re 100% sure the request is legitimate. If in doubt, contact the IRS directly.

If you’re unsure about any communication you’ve received, don’t hesitate to check the IRS website or give them a call directly at their official number.

Stay safe, everyone! 🛡️
