Do you really need long-term care insurance if you're still golfing every weekend?
That was the question from a couple in their late 50's this week. They could self fund but they wanted their retirement assets protected from the risk of LTC costs. We mapped out a strategy: redirect a portion of their IRA into a 10-year, pay-once-and-done hybrid policy. Day one, the policy offers more than three times the premium in tax-free long-term care benefits, growing 3 % a year. If they never need care, it simply passes to their kids as a life-insurance benefit. In ten years, the bills stop and peace of mind keeps compounding—no premiums hovering over their 70s and 80s.
You may be healthy today, but have you insured tomorrow’s what-ifs?
