🎉 As we wrap up our Get to Know DLG series, we truly believe we saved the best for last… because none of this would exist without one incredible decision made 40 years ago TODAY. 🙌

Today, we celebrate Galen, who founded this business 40 years ago with a vision rooted in faith, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others. 💙 What started as an idea has grown into something so much bigger, impacting countless families, building lasting relationships, and creating a legacy that continues to grow every single day.

Over the past four decades, Galen has not only built a successful business, but has also shaped a culture of trust, compassion, and doing what’s right, no matter the cost. His leadership has influenced generations, mentored so many along the way, and made a meaningful difference in both our community and the lives of those we serve. 🌟

Throughout his career, Galen has consistently performed at a high level, including being a longtime New York Life Chairman’s Council member (typically representing the top 3-4% of agents) and is a 2026 MDRT Top of the Table member, an honor achieved by a very small percentage of financial professionals. 📈

Beyond the business, Galen and his wife, Julie, have built a beautiful life together and raised their family, including their daughter Melissa (owner of West Side Salon right next door 💇‍♀️) and their son Daniel, who, along with his wife Whitney, has the privilege of working alongside Galen each day. He’s also proudly known as “Poppy” to his four grandchildren, Carson, Gage, Corban, and Abram, a role he deeply cherishes. ❤️

From clients who became lifelong friends, to team members who found purpose and direction, Galen’s impact goes far beyond business. It’s personal, lasting, and inspiring. And if the last 40 years are any indication, his legacy of leadership and influence will continue to be felt for years to come. 🚀

Today is another special day at DLG as we celebrate Daniel’s birthday! It's a fitting day to highlight him in our "Get to Know DLG" series and recognize the impact he makes on our team and the families we serve.

Daniel first joined the DLG team in 2006 and focuses on helping individuals, families, and business owners identify their financial goals and develop strategies for life insurance and long-term care planning. He is committed to walking alongside clients as they work toward those goals through thoughtful guidance and personalized strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Daniel is passionate about building lasting relationships rooted in trust, education, and putting clients first. Inspired by his dad, Galen, he is proud to continue the family legacy of treating clients like family and serving with integrity.

Daniel’s faith is an important foundation in his life and helps guide him each day. He is married to his wife, Whitney, and together they have two boys, Corban and Abram. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and keeping up with the Chiefs, Royals, and Mizzou.

As part of our ongoing "Get to Know DLG" series, today we’re happy to highlight Whitney.

Whitney has been part of Dody Legacy Group since 2006. In her role, she helps support the growth of the company by coordinating marketing initiatives, assisting with our Farm Legacy Planning services, maintaining client systems, and managing many of the behind-the-scenes details that keep the business organized and running smoothly each day.

She finds deep fulfillment in being part of DLG’s legacy-driven mission, helping families build stability and security for future generations. Whitney is grateful to serve alongside a team that is committed to making a lasting impact.

Whitney is married to her husband, Daniel, and together they have two boys, Corban and Abram. Her desire is that her faith, her love for her family, and her heart for serving others are reflected in the way she lives and works each day.

Our office is currently under construction — but we are OPEN for business!

We’re so excited to share the finished result soon and are incredibly grateful for the hard work Kustom Kat is putting into this project. Our goal is to create a space that functions even better for our clients, while keeping the legacy and charm of our beautiful historic building at the heart of it all.

Megan Asbill has been a dedicated member of Dody Legacy Group since 2011. Her primary focus is supporting financial accounts and estate planning, working closely with advisors and clients to ensure plans are carried out with care and accuracy. Megan’s attention to detail and commitment to service make her an important part of the team and a trusted point of contact for clients.

Megan values the family-centered culture at Dody Legacy Group and finds fulfillment in being part of a team that helps clients plan for the future and protect what matters most. She takes pride in contributing to meaningful, long-term relationships built on trust and consistency.

Megan is married to her husband, Dan, and they have two daughters, Samantha and Emery. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

We’re kicking off our team spotlight series with Alyssa Smith and today is an extra special day to feature her… it’s her birthday! 🎉 Happy Birthday, Alyssa!

Alyssa joined Dody Legacy Group in the summer of 2025 and has been an incredible addition to our team. As the friendly face who greets you at the door and the warm voice you hear on the phone, she helps create a welcoming, positive experience for every client.

She supports the life insurance side of our business and works with Galen and Daniel to keep our office running smoothly each day. Alyssa takes pride in making sure everyone who connects with DLG feels appreciated and cared for.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, and being with family.
