Hi All! It has come to our attention that there are quite a few scams, frauds, get rich quick schemes sending out reminders about the FinCen BOI reporting requirement, and offering to do the filing for you. This reporting requires a lot of personal information that you should keep secure, and most of these organizations 'helping' with the filing are just asking you to input that information to their system with no guarantee of your privacy or their security and use of this information. Please do not fall for these, instead please talk to your lawyer, accountant and/or just check out the actual government website yourself for this filing (do not enter any personal information on anything not secure, look for the .gov in the website).

For all businesses in existence BEFORE January 1, 2024 we are still recommending that you wait until November for filing in hopes that the appeals court will again rule the filing requirement unconstitutional. A reminder that your filing deadline is December 31, 2024. For all businesses created during 2024, you have 90 days from the date the business was created to file timely, and at this time we are recommending that you do file the report at fincen.gov/boi to avoid the late filing penalty of $500 per day!

Hello Facebook friends and followers!! This is just a friendly reminder to please read all instructions for W4 withholding forms when filling them out for your employer. If you do not understand how to properly fill them out please consult the online assistance provided by the IRS (the website is listed on the front page of the form) or your tax preparer. It is especially important for multiple income married taxpayers, people claiming dependents or employees who also have income earned outside of their W4 job. No one wants to end up with unfortunate tax surprises at the end of the year.

There are a lot of changes to the child tax credit for 2021, one of which being the advanced payments. If you have any questions about how these payments will affect your tax situation please reach out to our office. If you need assistance in figuring out how to unenroll from the payments, feel free to call our office at 660.885.6996.

PLEASE NOTE: If you file a joint return with your spouse, you BOTH must log in to your IRS account to unenroll.

Helpful tip: We found it easier to create an account with the IRS at irs.gov (if you do not already have one) than through the ID Me app they link to in the unenrollment articles.
