Tagum — Tree Planting

As apart of our 1st quarter volunteer activities, our Jitawesomes in The Philippines planted trees in Tagum City, adding a little more green to the world around them.

Seattle is one of the 16 host cities for this year's World Cup. 35,000 people applied to be volunteers, and the Seattle coordinators eventually selected 2,000 volunteers. One of those volunteers is fellow Jitawesome Bobby Powers. Bobby is working in Fan Operations at the stadium, helping fans know where they're going and passing out a little souvenir to fans.

"I am stoked to be part of such a massive international event," Bobby said. "This is the first time I've gotten the chance to do something like this, and the energy is electric."

Bobby says he's cheering for USA and Bosnia & Herzegovina--both of whom will play a match in Seattle.

Way to go Bobby!!

Summer auction season is here, which means many nonprofits are gathering donated items, selecting vendors, booking venues, and coordinating event materials.

But even when an auction feels informal, procurement still matters.

Having a clear procurement process helps your nonprofit make thoughtful purchasing decisions, avoid conflicts of interest, and maintain strong financial oversight, especially when multiple staff, volunteers, or board members are helping bring the event together.

Before your next auction, it may be worth asking:

▶️ Are purchases being approved consistently?
▶️ Are vendor decisions documented?
▶️ Are donated goods being tracked properly?
▶️ Are conflicts of interest clearly addressed?

As apart of our 1st quarter volunteer activities, our Bacolod team in The Philippines served free lunch to 100 hardworking tricycle drivers through the Feed Forward program.

Tondo, Manila — Educational Activities

As apart of our 1st quarter volunteer activities, several Jitawesomes in The Philippines spent the morning with Grade 1-3 students at Barangay 128 in Tondo, Manila, teaching them about saving money through fun, hands-on activities.
