Business owners — quick deadline heads-up. ⏰

Quarterly payroll tax returns are normally due tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 2. But if you live or have a business in one of the 40 Alabama counties covered by the IRS Hurricane Isaias relief, that deadline is postponed to Feb. 4, 2027.

Not every county is covered — Jefferson County, where my business is, is not on the list — so check yours before you count on the extra time.

Good morning y'all! ☀️ Big news in the tax world 👀

The Senate just unanimously passed the TAS Act — a bill that could require background checks and continuing education (up to 18 hours!) for anyone getting a PTIN to prepare taxes.

It's not law yet, it still has to make it through the House. I'm reading up on all the details now and I'll keep y'all posted as I learn more!

Just a little reminder: An extension to file is NOT an extension to pay. If you owe taxes, penalties and interest may have been accumulating since April.
