It’s Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime 🥳

Tax season is upon us. Can’t believe I’ve been doing this almost 20 years. Just a couple of tips.

*IRS opens January 24th. That does not mean you’ll have all of your tax documents by then. PLEASE WAIT until you have received them all. The fastest way to get audited is to underreport your income. If you got a tax document trust me the IRS did as well.

*There’s a lot of focus on those with large refunds but those of you who owe or haven’t filed in years for whatever reason I have developed a “tax amnesia” plan to help you get caught up. You DO NOT want the IRS to file for you. And you may be due a refund but after 3 years you can no longer claim it. Setup a FREE consultation so we can see what needs to be done to get you back on track.

*tax refunds will be lower. Some of the credits for the tax cuts are expiring and credits that were inflated are now back to normal.

SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

*DO NOT LET YOUR TAX PREPARER WRITE OFF ALL YOUR INCOME! You may think you make 100k a year but your tax return says you make 20k because you’ve wrote off 80k worth of expenses. Now your funding is limited or even negative. If your tax burden is that heavy then you may need to consider switching to an S Corp or speaking with someone about tax planning to help.

*Self Employed folks, please make sure you have received all 1099’s from these card processing companies. That is not free money. It will be reported. Do NOT let someone tell you that you don’t have to file it. (Yes that happens)
