🚨 ALERT TAXPAYERS! THE IRS HAS AN IMPORTANT WARNING BEFORE THE 2027 TAX SEASON! 👀🔐
Tax season is approaching, and there’s something you should take care of NOW to help protect your identity and tax refund! 💰
The IRS is reminding taxpayers to obtain an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) before its online system temporarily shuts down for annual maintenance in mid-November!
🔐 Here’s what you need to know:
✅ An IP PIN is a six-digit security code that helps prevent identity thieves from filing fraudulent tax returns using your information.
✅ You can request an IP PIN even if you’re not required to file taxes!
✅ The online system generally closes in mid-November and reopens in mid-January.
✅ Your IP PIN changes annually, so you’ll need the updated PIN when filing your 2026 tax return in 2027.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: The IRS will NEVER call, text, or email you asking for your IP PIN!
