One thing that becomes clear over time is how important the right team is.

We have been fortunate to work with individuals who are not only talented, but who bring different perspectives and skill sets to the table.

It is not just about assigning roles and responsibilities.

It is about having the right people in those roles — people who think differently, challenge ideas, and ultimately strengthen the outcomes for our clients.

Good planning is a team effort.

As always, we can help you with that.

A strong financial plan is not built on guesswork.

It is built on thoughtful analysis, careful modeling, and the ability to evaluate different scenarios over time.

When it comes to technology, the tech stack we use is second to none.

We invest in tools that help us do that well — from running projections and stress-testing portfolios to analyzing tax returns and integrating estate planning into the broader strategy.

Technology does not replace experience. But when used properly, it helps us make better, more informed decisions for our clients.

As always, we can help you with that.

One tax planning issue we see fairly often with business owners involves estimated tax payments.

Many entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals are required to make quarterly payments throughout the year in order to satisfy IRS “safe harbor” rules.

What is sometimes overlooked is that, in certain situations, taxes can instead be paid through withholdings — whether from W-2 income, a spouse’s paycheck, Social Security, or even IRA distributions.

The advantage is flexibility.

Estimated payments generally need to follow a specific schedule. Withholdings, however, are treated differently by the IRS and can often be adjusted later in the year.

For some business owners, that can create a much simpler and more manageable process.

Just a planning point we wanted to share, as it comes up more often than people realize.

As always, if you would like a second opinion on your financial planning situation, we are happy to help.

We are proud to share that Evan Bethards has officially earned three important letters next to his name — CFP®.

This is not an easy milestone. It requires a meaningful commitment of time, study, and discipline.

More importantly, it reflects Evan’s dedication to his work and to the clients he serves every day.

At our firm, we place a strong emphasis on continuous learning and on building a team that is thoughtful, prepared, and well-equipped to support others. And Evan's dedication to those values is something that is truly worth celebrating.

Please join me in congratulating him on this accomplishment!

After you file your taxes, there is often a sense of relief.

But that is usually when the planning should begin.

If you have recently filed and want to get your finances lined up before next tax season, this is a good time to take a closer look.

Evan Bethards, one of our financial planners, works closely with clients to identify opportunities throughout the year — not just during tax season.

Small adjustments to withholding, investment decisions, and contribution strategies can make a meaningful difference over time.

Thoughtful planning is not about reacting in April.

It is about staying ahead the rest of the year.

As always, we can help you with that.

One of the more common questions we get:

“Is Social Security taxed?”

The answer is — it depends.

At the federal level, up to 85% of your benefits may be taxable based on your income.

But in Georgia, Social Security is not taxed. And if you are over 65, a portion of your retirement income may also be excluded from state taxes.

That is one of the reasons Georgia can be a very tax-friendly place to live in retirement.

Like most things in planning, it comes down to understanding how the rules apply to your situation.

We can help you with that.

We are often asked what we think is going to happen next.

The honest answer is — no one really knows.

Markets change. Economies shift. Unexpected events happen.

Trying to predict all of that with precision is difficult.

Instead, we focus on building strategies that can hold up across a variety of scenarios.

Less prediction. More preparation.

That approach has served our clients well over time.

As always, we can help you with that.

Tax headlines often create more confusion than clarity. And with the OBBBA passed last year, that confusion has been amplified for some of our clients.

Recently, we’ve been asked:

• Was Social Security taxation eliminated?
• Did tax brackets change?
• What about the standard deduction?

In reality, most tax rates and deductions remain largely unchanged.

There have, however, been some adjustments, including changes to certain deductions that can meaningfully impact individuals and business owners when applied thoughtfully.

When coordinated properly, these changes can create opportunity.

At one of our recent client gatherings, we reviewed several of these updates and discussed how they may affect planning decisions going forward.

As always, we can help you with that.
