The South Carolina Department of Revenue has extended the tax filing deadline to Oct. 15. Taxpayers must still pay at least 90% of the amount owed by April 15 to avoid penalties.

From Rep Bill Taylor This week, the House of Representatives approved legislation (H.5006) to exempt the first $10,000 of personal property value from tax bills. It is a significant burden for small businesses to pay annual property taxes on items such as desks and computers, which are already subject to sales tax. To qualify for this exemption, a business must have fewer than 100 full-time employees or less than $10 million in annual sales. Approximately 97% of businesses fall under this threshold.

Office hours are 930 to 430 Monday through Friday or you can put your tax papers through our letter drop through the door. 2025 will look a little different. If you had any overtime I need the premium breakdown or any tips I need it separated from income. If you had home improvement (insulation, exterior doors, windows, HVAC, water heater ) please make me aware of those. If you were a teacher, I need your classroom expenses. Some people may itemize this year. So I may need your mortgage interest statement 1098, all of your donations cash separate from checks, volunteer miles, all of your real and personal property taxes, and possibly your medical expenses including premiums paid. If you purchased a NEW vehicle in 2025, I need the VIN number and the interest. Did you sell any digital assets?
