Farming never stops, but sometimes taking a moment to pause makes all the difference.

Nexia Hawke’s Bay was proud to sponsor the recent The FMG and Farmlands Gumboot Cricket Cup, a community event that brought farmers together for a few laughs, good conversation, and a chance to step off the farm for a while.

While it was a fun day of friendly competition, the message behind it was important. Farming can be demanding and isolating, and initiatives like Farmstrong highlight how connection, time out, and supporting one another can make a real difference to wellbeing.

Events like the Gumboot Cup are a great reminder that stepping back isn’t a weakness, it’s an important part of staying well and farming well.
