🏀 A huge night for StAC Basketball!

What a result for St Andrew’s College, with both Senior teams taking out their respective NZCT competitions.

The Senior Girls won the Whelan Trophy for the seventh year in a row, defeating Cashmere High School 101-30.

The Senior Boys also made history, winning the Thomson Trophy for the first time with a 107-79 victory over Cashmere.

Pictured is Year 12 player Benji Marsh, who has had a standout year of his own, including making his Canterbury Rams NZNBL debut and being named in the U18 National Championship All-Star Five.
As a proud sponsor of St Andrew’s College basketball, Oxford Edge is thrilled to celebrate such an outstanding season.

Congratulations to both teams, the coaches and everyone behind the scenes - two trophies and a very special night for StAC basketball! 👏🏀

⚽ A big weekend for our very own Charlie Peacocke! ⚽

Huge congratulations to Charlie and the Cashmere Technical team, who are through to the 2026 Chatham Cup Final after a 2-1 win over Napier City Rovers yesterday.

The Chatham Cup is New Zealand’s premier men’s knockout football competition, so making the final is a fantastic achievement.

Charlie has been part of the Cashmere Technical squad throughout the season and we’re very proud to have one of the finalists in the Oxford Edge team.

Next up, Cashmere Technical will take on Auckland’s Fencibles United in the final on the first weekend of September. And watch this space - the game may even be in Christchurch! 👀

It was also a double celebration for Cashmere Technical, with the women’s first team winning their semi-final and booking a place in the Kate Sheppard Cup Final for the first time in the club’s history.

What a weekend for the club. Huge congrats Charlie - we’ll be backing you and the team! 👏⚽

🏀 Backing the StAC Senior Girls

As a proud sponsor of St Andrew’s College basketball, Oxford Edge is pleased to support the Senior Girls team as they head into the playoff stage of the NZCT Whelan Trophy.

The team has won the competition for the past six years and continues to show the determination, talent and teamwork that have made it so successful.

Pictured are Year 10 player Maiyah Lavea-Martin and Year 13 player Ava Jones.

Maiyah recently captained Canterbury to its second consecutive National U16 Championship and was named the tournament’s U16 Girls Most Valuable Player and selected in the All-Star Five for the second year running.

Ava recently represented New Zealand at the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup, where the team finished fifth in the world. She has also signed to play college basketball for Santa Clara University in California.

We wish Maiyah, Ava and the full StAC Senior Girls team all the best for their upcoming playoff games. We’ll be cheering you on!

Congratulations to Christchurch Football Club’s Premier Women’s team on an incredible final against Linwood this past weekend. It was a hard-fought contest with Linwood coming through with the win. Congratulations to both teams on an amazing end to the season.

Oxford Edge are proud supporters of the Christchurch Football Club both as a sponsor and working with their management on advisory and accounting matters. We look forward to continuing this partnership in the 2027 season!

Full Time | Grand Final

Our Premier Women have fallen just short in the Grand Final, going down 17–13 to Linwood in a hard-fought contest.

A huge congratulations to Linwood Rugby on a well-deserved championship.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Wāhine throughout the season and packed the stands today. Your support never went unnoticed ❤️🖤

We've had a busy and exciting few weeks at Oxford Edge!
In mid-June, we welcomed clients and colleagues to a special Q&A session with James Bergin from Xero while he was in Christchurch for XPAS 2026.
As Xero's Executive GM of Tech Research & Advocacy, James shared insights from Xero's latest AI research for small and medium-sized businesses. We explored how Kiwi businesses are using AI to boost productivity, along with some of the common challenges that can make getting started feel overwhelming.
A big thank you to Olivia Flyger and Anna Riley for coordinating the event and facilitating a fantastic discussion. The thoughtful questions and engagement from everyone in the room made for a valuable and insightful session.
AI is evolving rapidly, and it can be difficult to know where to begin. If you're curious about how AI, technology, and better business systems could help your business work smarter, we'd love to have a conversation.

Last month, Anna Riley had the opportunity to join a panel at the 2026 Xero Partner Advisory Summit in Christchurch. Hosted by Bridget Snelling, Xero Country Manager NZ, the discussion centred on what it takes to lead through change, build resilient teams, develop future talent, and make the most of emerging technologies like AI. It was a privilege to share the stage with Ric Thorpe (Sidekick) and Manoli Aerakis (Go Accounting), and to hear the different perspectives each panellist brought to the conversation.

A big thank you to Xero for bringing together so many leaders from across the industry for an afternoon of honest conversations, fresh thinking, and practical ideas. And to balance out the accountants in the room, hearing from Richie McCaw afterwards wasn't a bad bonus.

If your business is looking to work smarter through better systems, software, or AI, Anna can help you identify practical solutions that save time and improve efficiency. Send Anna an email at [email protected] or give the Oxford Edge team a call on 03 379 6710 for a chat.

May is Pink Ribbon Breakfast month, and the team at Oxford Edge is proud to once again be baking up a storm for a cause close to many hearts.

This year marks our 13th year of supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation. We prepared a selection of homemade treats to share with our neighbouring businesses, with all donations going toward supporting patients and their families during treatment, as well as funding vital research and medical grants to improve outcomes for those affected by breast cancer.

Over the years, this annual event has become a tradition we look forward to—not only because it helps raise funds for such an important cause, but also because it brings our local business community together over coffee, cake, and conversation.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to support us each year. Your generosity helps make a real difference. 💗🍰🧁
