The first MTD for Income Tax quarterly deadline has been and gone, but it’s no surprise that HMRC is already looking ahead.

More than 570,000 taxpayers have registered so far, with over 436,000 successfully filing their quarterly updates.

But if you haven’t registered yet, don’t ignore it.

From September, HMRC will start signing up taxpayers it believes should already be part of MTD for 2026/27.
