🏃‍♀️ AMY DID IT! 🏃‍♀️

A big congratulations to our very own Amy for smashing the Great North Run! 🏅

She took on the 13.1 mile course and raised £435 for Macmillan Cancer Support! 💚

Well done to all the runners, and the amazing crowds—who made it a brilliant day as always! 📣👏

🏠 LANDLORDS: Property Income Tax is changing

From the 6th of April 2027, new Income Tax rates will apply to property income received personally:

🏡 Basic rate: 22%
🏡 Higher rate: 42%
🏡 Additional rate: 47%

That’s a 2% increase across each band and for many landlords, this could mean a higher tax bill making it important to plan ahead.

💡 Now is the time to review:
• Expected rental profits
• Allowable expenses
• Finance costs
• Your overall property structure

Understanding the potential impact now could help you make informed decisions before the changes take effect.

Staff day out for the Findlay Todd team at Lane7! 🎳🎯🏆

There was technically no overall winner… mainly because we’re all so competitive that the games got bent and twisted until everyone somehow managed to win something. 😂

Great day, great team, questionable scoring! 🙌

3 mistakes that could be costing your business money 💷👇

❌ Leaving tax planning until January.
❌ Falling behind with your bookkeeping.
❌ Only speaking to your accountant once a year.

The truth is, the best results come from planning ahead.

When we speak to clients throughout the year we can help spot opportunities, avoid surprises and make sure they’re in the strongest possible position before it’s time to file the accounts.

A good accountant should be part of your business journey, not someone you only hear from at year-end.

If you’re a business owner, save this post for later and share it with someone who could benefit from a bit of forward planning. 😁

Another 5 star review for our team! 😁

🚗 Good news! HMRC has increased the tax-free mileage rate.

From 6 April 2026, the approved mileage rate for cars and vans has increased from 45p to 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles. After you’ve reached 10,000 business miles, you can continue to claim 25p per mile.

💷 What could that mean for you?
✔️ 5,000 business miles = £500 more
✔️ 10,000 business miles = £1,000 more

If you use your own vehicle for work, make sure you:
📍 Keep accurate mileage records
📍 Log every business journey
📍 Review your 2026/27 mileage claims

Don’t miss out on money you’re entitled to!

Need help working out what you can claim? Get in touch! 😊
