Jenwil BlueStar Potchefstroom

Jenwil BlueStar Potchefstroom Providing expert professional guidance and financial advice, in good times and bad times. Trish Rodrigues was appointed in October 2009.

In 2007 Sanlam created the BlueStar concept which was an Australian concept. This concept was developed to give financial planners an opportunity to develop their own practice and for the client to get personal specialized service which would ensure
continuity for clients. The training and requirements to qualify for this type of business were very steep and after all requirements were met, the bu

siness was registered and started by Rothea van Biljon (current managing director). Jenwil BlueStar Financial Advisory Services was the second BlueStar business in South Africa to meet all the requirements. After this the business started growing at an unbelievable rate and we needed a Client Relationship Manager. In 2010 Jenwil BlueStar Financial Advisory Services urgently needed more financial advisors and as a result Ivan Loots, Wian du Preez and Flip van der Merwe joined the team. Early in 2012 Jenwil BlueStar Financial Advisory Services became the first BlueStar that registered its own investment Wrap Fund. (Tailor made investment portfolio according to the clients risk tolerance). Investment planning and investment management forms a core part of Jenwil’s business and we supervise an investment book of close to R800 million. In July 2014 Ivan Loots and Flip van der Merwe joined. The need for another financial advisor and client relationship manager was identified. Jean van Biljon and Caren Eigelaar were appointed during January 2015. A regional office was also opened in Potchefstroom during January 2015.

Things we learned during - MANAGING A BUDGET.

If the thought of a budget and sticking to a spending plan makes you want to hyperventilate, take a deep breath and count to 10 ⏱️.

These 🔟 insights may just shift you from panic mode to enlightenment when it comes to budgeting.

1️⃣. Plan for a life of CONFIDENCE.
Ensure that you and your family will financially survive the unexpected. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

2️⃣. TRACK
Start tracking your income and spending.

👌. AUTOMATE to simplify
Consider the benefits of automatic debit orders for recurring expenses, as close to pay-day as possible.

4️⃣. ASK YOURSELF: How will this add value to my life? Is it a need, or is it a want?

5. Be TAX savvy
Firstly, file your returns on time to avoid late penalties and understand what deductions you may and may not claim for.

6️⃣. DO LIFE... on your own terms, and with your own pocket in mind. Keeping up with the Joneses and Khumalos can be a costly exercise.

7️⃣. Use DEBT wisely but remember that cash is king.💵💵
Know the difference between good and bad debt.

8️⃣. PLAN for EMERGENCIES. Don't be caught by surprise.
If you haven't started doing so already, put cash into a separate savings account, on a regular basis, building a 'nest egg' for life's unexpected emergencies and curve balls.

9️⃣. CALL in the help of a professional

Boost your confidence and chance of financial success by making use of an expert. Speak to a financial planner at Jenwil BlueStar - leave a message below to be contacted.

🔟. NEVER LOSE HOPE!

Remember that you are not the only one battling to budget and sticking to it. Never give up, no matter what or how many times you slip up. Your financial success and confidence are far more dependent on how well you manage your money than how much you earn.

Financial Literacy Tips

Prioritise 💰 SAVINGS 💰 even when living from pay-cheque to pay-cheque.

A strict approach to how you split your income between financial goals and short-term discretionary expenses is key to prioritising saving when you are living pay-cheque to pay-cheque.

The initial discomfort of putting more money 💸 towards financial freedom will be balanced out when debt is no longer a line item in your budget. 🏦

PLUS, once you've eliminated debt 👍, the fraction of your income that would've gone towards repayments can now start growing into a sizeable amount of savings so you can realise your financial goals.
