Alistair: ‘I wish I truly understood the power of compounding and investing in general. Even small amounts invested consistently from a young age can become life-changing over time. Consistently putting money away before spending on anything else and building that discipline early is far more powerful than waiting until you earn more.'

Allan: ‘I wish I had focused earlier on building assets that generate long-term income and value, instead of sometimes chasing lifestyle upgrades or short-term gratification. Automating your savings and investments every month is key. Consistency always beats intensity when it comes to building wealth! It's important to stop viewing money purely as something to spend or earn and start viewing it as a tool that buys freedom, choices, and time with the people you care about most.’

The message from both professionals is clear: The earlier you build structure, the easier building wealth becomes.

EDGE is a proud sponsor of Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club community. On the 12th of April, the Hillcrest Villagers Youth Rugby Club kicked off the 2026 Mini’s season by hosting the first tournament at Durban Shongweni Club. We had a fantastic time sponsoring and serving boerie rolls in collaboration with Holland Insurance Brokers, to players and spectators at the Annual Minis Host Day.

The day saw seven youth rugby clubs take to the field, with spirited matchups and enthusiastic supporters cheering from the sidelines. It was incredible to witness the talent, determination, and passion from such young players, a reminder of just how bright the future of the game is.
