What an unforgettable evening at the Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town.
A huge thank you to the team at Peregrine Capital for hosting such a special event. Sitting in a room with Springboks who have earned 100+ caps, along with legends like Dan Carter and Richie McCaw, was something I'll remember for a long time.
What struck me wasn't just the achievements. It was the consistency.
Nobody reaches 100 Test caps by accident. It's the result of thousands of small decisions made well over many years. Showing up. Doing the basics. Staying the course. Being faithful when nobody is watching.
The same is true in investing.
Last night also celebrated a rare achievement: the Peregrine High Growth Hedge Fund is the first and only South African unit trust to grow investors' money 100 times over since inception.
Great investing is rarely about chasing the next big thing. It's about patience, discipline and allowing time to do what time does best.
It reminded me of a Biblical principle:
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much." - Luke 16:10
Whether in rugby, investing, business or family life, long-term success is usually built on faithful stewardship of today's opportunities.
Grateful for the evening, the conversations, and the reminder that extraordinary results are often the product of ordinary faithfulness repeated over decades.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game, where another Legend and someone I look up to (and my mom's favourite rugby player) because of the way he glorifies God, Pieter-Steph, bows to take his hard-earned place with the Bok Centurions.
