A friend once asked me to prepare a talk about financial planning in our 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s.
It got me thinking: Can we really organize everyone’s financial life by age?
Whether earning a paycheck or running a business, there’s always something to pay for. The mortgage. Our children’s education. A parent who needs help.
“Once things settle down…”
Then another year passes.
I think of financial planning as building a house. Before adding another floor, the foundation needs to be solid: manageable spending, emergency savings, appropriate insurance protection, and retirement savings.
If something is missing, that’s a place to start, whatever our age.
Looking back, it’s easy to wish we had started sooner. But after years of caring for others, our own future deserves some care, too.
Let’s start now.
