As the newest member of the Capital Advisors Financial Team, we wanted to share a little more about Brian and the experience and perspective he brings to our team and our clients.

After nearly 20 years in Seattle, Brian returned to his hometown of Yakima in 2025 and is happy to be back in the community he calls home. Before joining Capital Advisors, Brian spent nearly 12 years with UBS, working with private clients and institutions. Today, Brian works with individuals, families, and business owners on investment management, retirement, tax, and estate planning. He takes a practical and thoughtful approach to financial decisions, with a focus on building lasting relationships and being a trusted resource for his clients and their families. Those who know Brian know how much he enjoys what he does and that passion shows in the way he works with others.

Outside the office, Brian enjoys golfing, coaching youth baseball, and staying involved in the Yakima community through Rotary and other local events.

We’re glad to have Brian back in Yakima and on our team. We appreciate the experience, energy, and community connection he brings to Capital Advisors and the clients we serve.

If you’ve met Connor, you know he brings the same energy and thoughtfulness to his work that he brings to the community.

For the past three years, Connor has been a Financial Advisor with Capital Advisors Wealth Management, working alongside individuals, families, and businesses to help navigate investment management, retirement, estate, and tax planning. But Connor’s life outside the office is just as busy. When he’s not helping clients, you might find him playing pickleball, hiking, or enjoying live music somewhere in the Yakima Valley.

Connor is also deeply involved in our local community, serving on the board of Canyon Blooms, as a committee member for the Capitol Theatre, Treasurer of the Estate Planning Council of Yakima, and as chair of Southwest Rotary.

We’re proud to have Connor on our team and appreciate all he brings to our clients, our firm, and our community!

With more than 33 years of experience, Rob is passionate about helping clients pursue financial independence. He works closely with individuals and families to grow and preserve their wealth while navigating important tax and estate planning considerations. Saving for education can involve more than just preparing for college expenses — it may also create long-term planning opportunities for the next generation.

💡 Advisor Insight from Elliot:
“529 plans have become a more attractive planning tool in recent years. In addition to helping families save for future education expenses, recent rule changes allow unused 529 funds to potentially be rolled over to a Roth IRA for the beneficiary, subject to certain requirements and limits. This added flexibility can help families feel more comfortable saving for education, knowing that unused funds may still benefit the child later by giving them a head start on retirement savings. One important item to keep in mind is financial aid treatment. Custodial accounts, such as UGMA/UTMA accounts, are generally considered the child’s asset, which may have a greater impact on FAFSA eligibility compared to a parent-owned 529 plan.
Overall, each option can play a role, but the right account often depends on the family’s goals, expected education needs, tax situation, and desire for flexibility.”
