Not financial planning related, but absolutely the best part of my weekend was Greyson's first tee ball practice! 🥰 He's been so excited, hitting balls off the tee in the basement and practicing his fielding. He's obsessed and I love it!

How does summer go so quickly?! These two kids of ours, are getting older, taller, smarter AND sassier. 😂

Wishing them and all the other students going back to school, a wonderful year!

This week, the family and I rented bikes and took a bike ride through Peninsula State Park, a nice 10+ mile trip. After stopping at the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, we started our journey back in. I was talking to them... And nothing. Not a peep. 🚲😴

My kids were lulled to sleep by the bumps and sound of the gravel bike path.

They missed the scenery, the wildlife, and the adventure!

Of course it made my financial planning obsessed brain think.... 🧠

A lot of people unknowingly let the same thing happen with their finances.

Life gets busy. Careers, kids, vacations, sports, and endless to-do lists. Years go by, and before you know it, you've been on "autopilot" with your retirement accounts, investments, insurance, or estate plan.

Being "asleep" financially doesn't usually cause problems overnight.

It's the little things you don't notice over 5, 10, or 20 years that can have the biggest impact:

• Old 401(k)s that were never reviewed.
• Investments that no longer fit your goals.
• Beneficiaries that haven't been updated. BIG OOPS!
• Tax-saving opportunities that were missed. $$$$
• Retirement plans that were never stress-tested.

You don't have to obsess over your finances every day, but you also don't want to sleep through the journey. 😴

Every once in a while, it's worth waking up, taking a look around, and making sure you're still headed where you want to go.

Sitting here on this Friday, I see this corner. This corner of my office isn't flashy or fancy, but it shows an incredible piece of what motivated me to get to where I am today. You can see a picture of me fist bumping my daughter Madelyn when she was less than a few months old. And another picture of Becky and I holding her around the same time, as we visited a restaurant with family.

When I started here at Fraser Wealth Management, I had nothing business wise. No book of business. No income. No real idea of how I would grow. And I DEFINITELY had no idea that COVID was coming a few months later.

But what I did have was Becky and that brand new baby girl. Both gave me the motivation and courage to jump off and try to make it on my own. That baby girl gave me the final push to go after something I had thought about for a long while, to chase the dream of guiding people on the path to financial success on my own terms... To give them the confidence to make better decisions in creating a better life for them and their family's.

I've had my business for almost 7 years now and I'm thankful for all of my clients and those that have helped me along the way. Sometimes we need a push to get moving towards an incredible opportunity. I was lucky mine came when it did. ❤️
