Five tax dates between now and February that are easy to miss.😬 Swipe for the big three. ➡️

Mark your calendar: 🗓️

➡️ NOV. 2: Employers file Form 941 for the third quarter.

➡️ DEC. 15: Calendar-year corporations make their fourth 2026 estimated tax payment.

➡️ DEC. 31: Last day for many 2026 year-end moves, including most required minimum distributions, 401(k) contributions through payroll, and charitable gifts.

➡️ JAN. 15: Final 2026 estimated tax payment for individuals.

➡️ FEB. 1: W-2s and 1099-NECs are due. January 31 falls on a Sunday, so the deadline moves to Monday.

➡️ One more date to watch: The IRS hasn’t announced its 2026 cutoff for electronically filing individual returns yet. Keep an eye out for the official date in the coming days. 👀

Sharing is caring: send this to a friend with an upcoming tax deadline. 😉

Medicare plans change every year. 🤨 Open Enrollment is your chance to review your 2027 coverage—through December 7. ✅

A few things worth checking before you decide:

➡️ DOCTORS & PHARMACIES
If you have a Medicare Advantage or drug plan, confirm your doctors and pharmacies are still in the plan’s network for 2027.

➡️ PRESCRIPTIONS
Review your medications, pharmacies, and costs. Negotiated prices for 15 additional Part D drugs take effect January 1, 2027. Check whether your prescriptions are included and how your plan covers them.

➡️ TELEHEALTH
Certain Medicare telehealth services from home are covered through December 31, 2027.

➡️ PART B COSTS
CMS hasn’t announced the official 2027 Part B premium yet. Watch for the update before finalizing your health-cost budget.

A quick review may help you catch changes before your new coverage begins January 1. When did you last compare your plan? Tell us below, and save this as a reminder. ⬇️

Need a little more breathing room in your business cash flow? Your vendor terms may be a good place to look. 👀

A quick review before the holiday rush could help you better manage when cash leaves your account. ✨ Here are four places to start: ✨

→ ASK ABOUT TERMS
Ask regular suppliers whether they offer longer payment terms. A history of paying on time can help start the conversation.

→ ALIGN BILL DUE DATES
When possible, work with suppliers to line up due dates with when your customers typically pay.

→ WEIGH EARLY-PAY DISCOUNTS
Compare the discount with the cost of using your cash sooner. Paying early may not always be the better deal.

→ CHECK YOUR AUTOPAYS
Review when payments are scheduled. If your terms allow, set them closer to the due date and allow for processing time.

Business owners: start with the five vendors you pay most. Save this for your next cash-flow check, or share it with a business owner gearing up for a busy season.

Broke even on sports bets? 🏈 You could still have taxable winnings. 💰

For tax year 2026, a new rule limits how much of your gambling losses you can deduct. ✨ Here’s what bettors should know: ✨

➡️ REPORT ALL WINNINGS
Gambling winnings are taxable, even if you don’t receive a Form W-2G.

➡️ LOSSES ARE LIMITED
You can deduct gambling losses only if you itemize, and your deduction can’t exceed your winnings.

➡️ NEW FOR 2026
The deductible portion of your losses is limited to 90%. For example, $10,000 in winnings and $10,000 in losses could leave $1,000 in gambling income if you itemize and qualify to deduct the losses.

➡️ KEEP GOOD RECORDS
Log each wager’s date, app or venue, and amount won or lost. Save your account statements and other supporting records.

A few weekends of betting can add up quickly. Save this for tax time or share it with someone who bets on sports. 😉

🤔 Questions about how your winnings are taxed? Our team is here to help. 💪

Starting in 2027, many workers could get an extra boost when they save for retirement. 💰💰

The Saver’s Match is a federal contribution of up to $1,000 a year, deposited directly into an eligible retirement account. It replaces the Saver’s Credit for retirement plan and IRA contributions.

✨ Here’s what to know: ✨

→ HOW MUCH IS THE MATCH?
The match is up to 50% of your first $2,000 in eligible contributions, for a maximum of $1,000 per person each year. Each spouse may qualify when filing jointly.

→ WHO GETS THE FULL MATCH?
The full 50% match is available up to these modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) limits:

• Married filing jointly: $41,000
• Head of household: $30,750
• Single or married filing separately: $20,500

🚨Above those amounts, the match phases down and eventually ends. 🚨

→ WHAT ACCOUNTS QUALIFY?
Eligible contributions to a 401(k), 403(b), governmental 457(b), or traditional or Roth IRA may qualify.

→ HOW DO YOU CLAIM IT?
File Form 8880-A with your 2027 federal tax return in 2028. The match goes directly into your designated retirement account.

→ WHO MAY QUALIFY?
You must contribute to an eligible account, be at least 18 by year-end, meet the IRS student and residency rules, and not be claimed as someone else’s dependent.

→ WHAT ABOUT 2026?
Nothing to do yet. The match applies to eligible contributions made starting in 2027.

Know someone who’s just starting to save for retirement? Tag them or share this post. ✨Save it for your 2027 planning. ✨

Identity thieves don’t take a break after tax season. 🔐

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and the IRS is reminding taxpayers to protect their personal, financial, and tax information year-round.

Six simple steps to help lock things down:

➡️ USE STRONG PASSWORDS
Choose a unique password for each important account. A password manager can help.

➡️ TURN ON MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION
Use it wherever it’s offered.

➡️ KEEP DEVICES UPDATED
Update your phones, computers, apps, and browsers.

➡️ PAUSE BEFORE YOU RESPOND
Be cautious with unexpected calls, texts, or emails asking for personal information or urging you to act fast.

➡️ SECURE YOUR TAX RECORDS
Store digital records safely and keep a backup.

➡️ SKIP PUBLIC WI-FI
Avoid it when signing in to financial accounts, tax records, or IRS online services.

A few minutes now can save a lot of cleanup later. Save this for a quick security check, or share it with someone who handles tax information online.

Questions about protecting your tax records? Our team is here to help.

Your Social Security benefit is going up. Here’s what to check before updating your budget. 💙

The Social Security Administration announced a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment for 2027—about $75 more per month on average for retirement benefits. Your individual increase may differ.

Three things worth knowing:

→ WHEN IT STARTS
The increase begins with January 2027 Social Security payments. For SSI recipients, increased payments begin December 31, 2026.

→ WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE
Your benefit amount and your bank deposit can differ. Medicare premiums and other deductions affect what reaches your account, so check your personalized notice before planning around the increase.

→ WHERE TO LOOK
COLA notices will be available through my Social Security starting in late November, with mailed notices arriving in December.

Once you have your notice, compare your updated payment with your regular expenses. It’s a small step that can make your retirement budget easier to manage.

Save this for when your notice arrives, or share it with someone who receives Social Security.

Questions about how Social Security fits into your tax picture? Our team is here to help.

Buying your own health insurance? Give the tax side a checkup, too. 🤍

If you’re self-employed, having a policy in your own name doesn’t automatically rule out a deduction. How you pay for it—and how your business reports it—matters.

Here’s what to review:

→ YOUR BUSINESS SETUP
Sole proprietors can generally use a policy in their own name. Partners who personally pay for a policy in their name generally need partnership reimbursement and proper reporting.

→ YOUR S CORP PAYROLL
Own more than 2%? The company generally must pay or reimburse the premiums and include them in your W-2 Box 1 wages for you to claim the personal deduction, subject to eligibility rules.

→ YOUR ELIGIBILITY
Qualifying business earnings or S corp wages limit the deduction. Eligibility for subsidized employer coverage—including through a spouse—can disqualify months, even if you decline that coverage.

→ YOUR MARKETPLACE CREDITS
If you receive premium tax credits, they must be coordinated with the deduction.

This deduction can lower your federal income tax, but it doesn’t reduce self-employment tax.

With HealthCare.gov open enrollment for 2027 coverage starting November 1, now is a good time to review your setup.

Save this for your coverage review, or send it to a self-employed friend. 🤗

Giving back looks good on you. Here’s something new for your taxes, too. 🤍

Starting with 2026, eligible taxpayers can deduct qualifying cash donations even when they take the standard deduction.

Before your next donation, know these three things:

→ THE LIMIT
Up to $1,000, or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. This reduces taxable income—it isn’t a dollar-for-dollar tax credit.

→ THE GIFT
Cash, checks and electronic donations to eligible charities can qualify. Gifts to individuals, donated items and contributions to donor-advised funds generally don’t qualify for this deduction.

→ THE RECORDS
Keep a bank record or written record from the charity for every cash gift. For each gift of $250 or more, also obtain a timely written acknowledgment stating whether you received goods or services.

Supporting a cause you love? A little recordkeeping now can make filing easier later.

Swipe for the details, and save this before your next donation. →

Questions? Our team can help you understand how the rules apply to your giving.

Being your own boss comes with a lot of decisions. How you pay yourself is one worth getting right. 👏

Happy Boss’s Day to the business owners building something of their own!

If your business is taxed as an S corporation, here’s your reminder: owner pay deserves more than a guess.

→ Working in the business? You generally need reasonable compensation for your services before taking distributions.

→ Your duties, hours, experience and what comparable businesses pay help determine what “reasonable” looks like.

→ If your salary is too low, the IRS can reclassify distributions as wages subject to employment taxes.

→ Proper payroll and records supporting how you determined your pay matter.

With a few months left in 2026, now is a good time to review your compensation and discuss any payroll adjustments needed.

You put the work in. Let’s make sure your pay reflects it.
