It's not often I come across a software service in use by one of my clients that I actually like and adopt for my business. Ramp quickly won a prominent place on my desktop, pinned to my taskbar.

At the basic level, Ramp is a credit card provider/expense processor, offering 1.5% cash back on all purchases. Nothing too exciting there. Add instant issuance of virtual cards, AI enabled receipt capture and transaction coding, automatic transaction sync to most major ERP systems and things get much more interesting.

Continuing down the offerings – accounts payable automation, procurement process optimization, cash forecasting, treasury management, meaningful rate of return on cash balances, etc. and the program becomes well worth the very reasonable per user monthly cost for Ramp Plus. Oh wait, there is also a $0 per user cost option available, if you want to start with a few less bells and whistles than what is included with the plus version.

Many pain points I’ve heard from my clients over the years can be addressed by the features offered by Ramp. In addition to using Ramp personally, I’ve completed their Certified Ramp Specialist training.

Post IRS tax deadline, what to do next?

With the annual passing of the April 15th tax deadline, business owners commonly fall into a few categories:

1) Returns are filed, balance paid, quarterly estimated payments are planned, nothing tax related to deal with until later in the year;

2) Taxes are on extension with plans are in place to get everything finished in advance of the extended filing deadline;

3) Tax extension is filed, we have time to figure it;

4) Tax deadline, must have missed the memo.

If tax filing season causes you to stress about your accounting records, it is probably time for a change. While no one enjoys making high tax payments, having reliable books and records should not contribute to your concern. Attention FL Business owners. It's annual report filing time for FL registered businesses. This is a easy process to complete which should be done directly at www.sunbiz.org.

PSA - Please closely review any solicitation received via US mail or email to perform this service for you at a cost of $300 or more. The filing process can be completed by you in as little as 3 minutes. The standard fee paid directly to the State of Florida is $138 or $150 for most businesses. If you need someone to walk you through the process, please feel free to reach out to me directly for filing assistance at no cost.

Any profit corporation, limited liability company, limited partnership or limited liability limited partnership annual report filing will have until 11:59 PM EST on Friday May 1, 2026, before a $400 late fee is assessed. Keep some extra money in your pocket, complete this filing on your own and in advance of the deadline.
