We have two new positions that we are accepting resumes for:
Position 2 of 2:

Accounting Assistant / Office Manager

Our firm is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant / Office Manager to join our team. The Accounting Assistant / Office Manager will be responsible for general office administrative responsibilities, helping tax files to progress through various stages of the workflow, data entry, and reviewing co-workers’ data entry. This person will be a first point of contact for much of the administrative / workflow steps of client’s tax files. Responsibilities:
-General office administrative responsibilities & processing client payments
-Scanning of client’s source documents and preparing client’s files for data entry
-Basic data entry of tax information into tax program
-Review for accuracy the data entered by other members of the firm
-Send out annual tax organizers to clients
-Perform wrap up steps for completed tax files and send out wrap up correspondence
-Respond to client’s phone calls and e-mails when appropriate
-Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling
-Attend to the needs of clients to whatever degree necessary to keep them satisfied and happy with our customer service and coming back each year

Skills:
-High school diploma/GED required
-Some accounting / tax education highly preferred
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs
Good 10-key skills
-Availability to work 2-3 mornings per week (other hours are flexible)
-Excellent customer service skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Must be an organized individual
-Solid mathematics skills
-Impeccable attention to detail
-Methodical approach to finishing tasks
-Willingness to learn established firm workflow processes
-Ability to interact with clients remotely via e-mail and phone calls
-Ability to function in a primarily paperless environment (PDF scans & electronic tools)

-This position will start out as Part-time

Position 1 of 2:

Experienced Tax Preparer (CPA or EA)

Our firm is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. The Tax Preparer will be responsible for communicating with clients about the tax preparation process, setting appointments when necessary, and driving the tax preparation and filing process from start to finish. As a general rule, this role would handle personal state and federal returns for higher income wage earners (100K+) and small business / rental tax clients who do not have an S-Corp, C-Corp, or Partnership (aka - Schedule C & E only). Responsibilities:
-Advise clients in the tax preparation process and prepare and file tax documents
-Address incoming calls and e-mails from clients to answer tax questions
-Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling
-Manage the client’s tax file from start to finish
-Setup face to face client appointments on an “as-needed” basis
-Attend to the needs of clients to whatever degree necessary to keep them satisfied and happy with our customer service and coming back each year

Skills:
-If an EA, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
-Excellent customer service skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Must be an organized individual
-Solid mathematics skills
-Impeccable attention to detail
-Methodical approach to finishing tasks
-Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs required
-Willingness to learn advanced tax strategy and established firm workflow processes
-Ability to interact with clients remotely via e-mail and phone calls
-Ability to function in a primarily paperless environment (PDF scans & electronic tools)

-A successful candidate will have ample opportunity to increase their book of clients after they have proven their competency
