01/20/2017
As some of you know, 2016 was particularly difficult for me and my family as we dealt with the sickness and death of my father to cancer. Each of us deal with this kind of sorrow in our own way. Some are able to plunge back into their work and find a path into a new morning. Some struggle to move on, each day seeming somehow darker than the last. I find I am much in the latter camp, and in the months following his death, frankly I have not wanted to talk to anyone. And mostly I haven't. This reticence was assisted by a technical issue with the office phone which I have dragged my feet in addressing.
For those who have tried to reach me, I am genuinely sorry for having made it so difficult, and, without pretending to deserve them, ask for your forgiveness and understanding.
My office is now open, a handful of outstanding projects are being completed, and a fresh season has commenced. Whether I see you for tax assistance or not, my wish for you is a 2017 filled with reflection and appreciation for the lives with whom we walk this tiny world. Life is precious, its brevity making it all the more so. Cherish every breath.
