Intern Spotlight: John Cotrotsios

John is a sophomore at Florida State University where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance. He has developed strong skills in customer service, communication, leadership, and fiscal responsibility through his professional experience at a local restaurant group. On campus, John is actively involved in student organizations and leadership initiatives, contributing to recruitment efforts, event planning, fundraising campaigns, and community service projects. His dedication to teamwork, relationship-building, and professional growth makes him a valuable addition to our team. Outside of academics, John enjoys golf, football, fishing, and traveling.

Intern Spotlight: Simran Sharma

Simran joins us from Rowan University, where she is pursuing a degree in Accounting. Simran brings fantastic, hands-on experience to our team, having previously completed accounting internships focused on general ledger entries, financial reporting, and QuickBooks, as well as serving as a Financial Aid Associate at Lincoln University. Beyond her technical and advanced Excel skills, Simran is a proven campus leader, having served as Student Government Association President while she attended Rowan College of South Jersey and Events Coordinator for the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc (NABA).

Creating an Impact on the Canal: Running, Volunteering, and Community Spirit with Katie Andrews, Christina Bell and Casey Hagy

BLS team members made their mark at the 3rd Annual Conquer the Canal Marathon Series on May 30th, both on and off the course.

Christina Bell and Casey Hagy took on the Half Marathon, demonstrating determination and endurance throughout the race. Casey delivered an outstanding performance, earning 3rd Overall Female honors and securing a spot on the podium.

Meanwhile, Katie Andrews volunteered at one of the race’s aid stations, helping keep runners hydrated, encouraged, and moving toward the finish line. From filling water cups to cheering on participants, she played an important role in supporting athletes throughout the event.

BLS was proud to serve as a Hydration Station Sponsor for this year’s Conquer the Canal Series. Supporting our community and celebrating achievement both on and off the course is exactly the kind of impact we strive to make.

Whether running the miles or serving those who did, everyone contributed to making race day a success.

Intern Spotlight: Carina Silva

Carina is from Newark, Delaware and is a junior at the University of Delaware, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She found BLS at UD’s Meet the Firms event. Carina brings valuable customer service and leadership experience through her roles in the hospitality industry, where she has developed strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
