Today is the last of June and you must take a pic of your odometer reading tonight before you go to bed or first thing in the morning before you move your car out of park

Why you ask??!!

Effective Jul 1, 2022 the mileage rate will increase to 62.5 per mile due to these gas prices.

I don't know who your Accountant is but I will not accept from my clients I drove 10K business miles and just cut it in half. I have a feeling the IRS may dig deeper on this and would want you to have a separate mileage log for Jan-Jun and Jul-Dec. So be prepared you don't want to get caught with your pants down.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!
The IRS just made the announcement that effective Jul 1, 2022 that the mileage reimbursement rate will increase to 62.5 cent per mile!!!! Basically as small business owners you must keep track of your mileage from Jan-Jun because that is at the old(new) rate of 58.5 cent per mile Then Jul-Dec at the new increase 62.5. This is to help compensate taxpayers for gas prices.

If you are not tracking your miles and have proof of this you can lose big time!!

Under the American Rescue Plan of 2021, advance payments of up to half the 2021 Child Tax Credit were sent to eligible taxpayers.

If you received advance payments, you can claim the rest of the Child Tax Credit, if eligible, when you file your 2021 tax return.

You will need Letter 6419 to make sure record the correct amount received during that time!
