For the 11th year, I've been awarded the Five Star Wealth Manager Award.

Is it the most prestigious award? No
Does it mean that I'm the best? No
Does it mean I'm better than someone else? No

But it does mean that my colleagues recognize something in me that stands out.

That I go beyond what's typical for my clients.
That I strive to continue to educate myself.
That I work on how I communicate planning concepts to clients.

The award is granted based on nominations from within the industry.

My colleagues, who know the most about who excels at their craft and who doesn't nominated me for this.

And for that, I'm proud.

These are the emails we get from so called expert management firms.

What are they advertising? MARKET TIMING.

What do we know is a failed strategy? That’s right! MARKET TIMING.

Why do they keep pushing it? Because the value is in the coaching, the planning, and the academics. They can’t provide that so they keep pushing failed strategies out on unsuspecting advisors and the often uneducated public.

My favorite line is how they care late to the game getting out of FAANG (Netflix was the worst performing S&P stock in the first half of the year) and now that it is dramatically down, they are thinking about moving out. Do they want to sell low and buy high elsewhere?

Run from this nonsense if anyone pitches it to you.

If you call working in your business “The Grind” then you are in the wrong business. Create your business and life in such a way that you get to live intentionally and joyfully.

This is our early morning office today as we prepare for a few days of team training at Matson Money.
