Before joining New York Life Insurance 24 years ago, my previous career was in the media industry where I headed up marketing in various roles. 45 years ago, I was in charge of promotion and advertising for WABC-TV and “Eyewitness News” in NYC. Joan Lunden came to the station as a young reporter from California. We introduced her to the television audience with a commercial that described her attributes. In the commercial, Joan was standing in Times Square, NYC, bustling with pedestrians and traffic. She concluded the promotion spot with, “…So now when people ask me what’s a nice girl like you doing in a place like this, I tell them – I work here!”

Joan was at a book signing interview a few days ago and we had the chance to meet up again!

My personal mission, whatever your professional role, is a commitment to do the right thing and excel at helping people make the right decisions. In the TV business, it was to help viewers obtain credible newscasting.

In my current profession as a financial services professional, my commitment is to help people make the right decisions to protect themselves, their families and their retirement.

While I have been the office’s Long-Term Care leader for 20+ years, and the Northeastern Zone leader for most of those years, and among the top 10 national leaders in the “LTCI Elite Hall of Fame,” these achievements are not about accolades.
