The second annual Saugatuck Financial Chili Cook-Off did not disappoint! And the spread of toppings and Mennonite accompaniments (thank you Nicholas Blue!) was as impressive as the competition.

With strong contenders from across the team, Tom Taylor pulled off the tremendous feat of dethroning incumbent Koy Price for 1st place. A new second place award was secured by a strong showing from Julie Oh!

With an unmatched command of Byzantine vernacular and a heightened culinary prowess, no one was surprised that Luke Andriuk handily defended the title prize for Most Discerning Palate.

As spring arrives, we’ll welcome lighter fare and look forward to elevation the competition again next year!

What started as a suggestion to include party hats with the cupcake and card our team had planned to greet a client coming in for his birthday became so much more fun!

Bets were made…
Hats were worn… (for the duration of a long meeting)…
And one of our favorite charities won!

We truly have THE BEST time at the office!

Hats off to and Alex Beilin for keeping Thursday fun, putting Justin in a party hat for an hour and giving generously to support combat wounded veterans fighting to turn pain into purpose!

YEAR END TAX PLANNING UPDATE:

As you may have heard, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was recently signed into law and has several implications for charitable giving. For example, starting in 2026 there will be a new 0.5% of AGI floor on the ability to deduct charitable donations.

For clients who are charitably inclined, we are happy to provide more details and help assess whether specific strategies, like a Donor Advised Fund, might be worth considering.

Don't wait! We have less than two weeks (12/15) to meet the deadlines to begin the process of putting some of these strategies in place by year end.

The SF team extended a warm 1st day welcome to our interns, Sadie and Elliott, yesterday! And celebrated with a delicious lunch at overlooking the garden patio and Saugatuck River! (We had so much fun, we forgot to get a picture!)
