To all tax clients:
A few changes that must be noted this year:
1) Returns can be completed totally remote. No need to come to my office, however you will need to upload documents to a secure site and sign electronically.
2) All documents need to be sent to me via a secure site even if you will be preparing your return in person with me but have a need to forward a document. This is an IRS requirement.
3) I have a secure lockbox on-site that you may also leave your documents in if you want to drop off and not schedule an in-person appointment or do virtually. Of course, if the office is open, you are welcome to come in and hand them off personally.
4) To send documents, please text me 315-415-6580, call the office at 315-676-3024 or email to weissbrend@aol with your email address and I will send you a link to upload documents. If you will be signing electronically, I will need a separate email for any joint taxpayers.
5) Any documents send vial other methods other than the secure site will be deleted. This is for your safety and per IRS regulation to stop identity theft. Only use the secure site link.
Payments of fees are expected at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, checks and of course cash.
Signature must be received before any returns are filed. This is an IRS regulation.
Partnership and S-Corp returns are due 3/15/24. That does not mean drop your documents on 3/14, 3/15 and expect them to be done on time. Any documents dropped or received after 3/1/24 will most likely be placed on extension.
Individual and Corporation returns are due 4/15/24. That again does not mean drop off the last few days and expect them to be done. If I can I will but anything after 4/1/24 might go on extension.
Extensions will not be worked on until after 5/1/24. My office closes for a few weeks after the deadline. Myself and my staff work 100 plus hours a week during tax season, so we need a break.
As always, I appreciate my clients and look forward to a busy tax season!
