This is one of the quiet red flags I see all the time.
Revenue is coming in. Bills are getting paid. The business looks “fine.”
But the owner hasn’t taken a real paycheck in months.

For S Corp owners, not paying yourself consistently isn’t just a cash-flow issue, it’s a compliance issue. Reasonable compensation isn’t optional, and skipping it can turn into penalties, back taxes, and uncomfortable letters later.

A healthy business pays its expenses and its owner, on purpose, on schedule, and without panic.
