If you have Marketplace Health Insurance check the mail for your 1095-A, you will need it to file your 2023 Tax Return.
If you paid reduced premiums for your insurance you Must file a return, even if you would not normally be required to do so.
What if you did not use advance credits to purchase your insurance? You also need to file, to reconcile payments and credits and to qualify for Marketplace next year. Want more info? Click on the IRS publication below.

The IRS has announced January 29 as the opening of Tax Season, but you don't have to wait.

IR-2024-04, Jan. 8, 2024 — The Internal Revenue Service today announced Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, as the official start date of the nation’s 2024 tax season when the agency will begin accepting and processing 2023 tax returns.

It's that time of year. We recommend keeping a tax document folder on your desk at this time of year. Everytime you receive any mail pertinent to your tax return, stick it in the folder.
IE. W2s, 1099-NECs, Distributions, Dividends, Interest Statements, Year End Statements from your Financial Advisor etc.
This can help to eliminate a lot of that last minute panic when organizing your documents.
