I’ve been reflecting on my life and my business a lot lately and this is the reminder I’ve been telling myself, and my mentors have been telling me, over and over (in a hard-truth-but-with-a-forehead-kiss kinda way). I’ve worked hard on my own growth mindset for the better part of a decade. I’m always leaning into it, promoting it, and following it… but not perfectly. Sometimes, when I reach the point of leveling up or the point of feeling uncomfy… I still have to remind myself to step aside, get out of my own way, and keep moving forward. Comfort is not where we make the necessary changes to get to where we actually want to be.

My mentor shared this with me the other day: The difference between a cow and a bison is this – when there is a storm ahead, the cow turns and runs away. The storm catches up to them anyway. Whereas the bison runs straight into the storm. Either way, you’re going through it. But one is forward moving and faster than the other.

(Because that’s what I’m doing with mine 😎)
