📢 Keeping You Informed: Your W-2 is Changing in 2026 📢

The IRS has released a draft of the new 2026 W-2 form (the form your job gives you every year for taxes). These changes are part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).

✨ What’s Changing

New reporting boxes:
• TA – Contributions your employer makes to a Trump Account
• TP – The total tips you earn at work
• TT – Your overtime pay

Box 14 (Other Information):
• 14a – Other deductions (like union dues, uniforms, or insurance)
• 14b – Tipped occupation code (links your job to the tips you report)

💡 Why This Matters

The IRS is making it harder for tips and overtime to get “lost in the shuffle.” This protects you from errors and makes it easier to see exactly where your money is going.

👉 Real-Life Example:
Marcus works full-time in retail. His paycheck shows $2,500/month in wages, plus $800 in overtime when he covers extra shifts. In the past, his overtime was buried in the total and didn’t always line up with what he thought he earned.
• With the 2026 W-2: His overtime will be broken out separately. That means Marcus can double-check his W-2 against his paystubs, making sure he gets the full refund he’s owed and isn’t shorted by reporting errors.

📌 What You Need to Know
• These changes don’t start until the 2026 W-2.
• Your 2025 W-2 (next January) will stay the same.
• The IRS hasn’t yet said how 2025 overtime and tips will be handled.

How much is Georgia's 2025 rebate?
Here’s what the rebates look like based on your filing status:
$250 for single filers or married filing separately
$375 for head of household
$500 for married filing jointly
Who qualifies for Georgia's rebate?
To receive the payment, you must:
Be a full-time Georgia resident for tax purposes
Have filed a Georgia state tax return for both 2023 and 2024 - Not be listed as a dependent on someone else’s 2023 return. Rebates may be reduced or withheld entirely if you owe money to the state.
