Dear Clients, Colleagues and Friends,

It is with deep personal sadness that we write to tell you that our dear friend and colleague Tom Markarian passed away on Tuesday, March 21st. He was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder in 2014 and in October 2015 had a bone marrow transplant at Dana Farber, which proved to be successful despite several ups and downs. Tom and his family were informed recently that he developed a brain tumor, which is believed to be unrelated to his initial challenge. Tom faced his illness with tremendous grace and courage – he fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.

Tom Markarian was the founding partner of Markarian & Meehan and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. For those of us who were fortunate enough to work with Tom, we know that we have lost an exceptional and extraordinary individual who embodied the spirit and values of our firm. Tom thoroughly enjoyed his profession and most of all working with people (clients, service providers, employees, etc.) to help solve their latest challenge in business (and in life). In our profession, Tom is certainly one to emulate although none of us will ever come close to him.

No words can express our sadness at Tom's death, and our hearts go out to his wife Lois; his children, Le-Anne, Marc (his wife Jessica), Kara (her husband Anthony) and Thomas, Jr.; his grandchildren, Taylor, Tara and Marc Paul; and his sister Mary Petrucci.

Although Tom is no longer with us, Markarian & Meehan will continue to provide the same level of service and dedication that Tom provided to his clients over the years – his legacy continues!
