A Minneapolis jury has found Derek Chauvin guilty of murder in the May 2020 death of George Floyd. The former MPD officer was convicted of second- and third-degree murder, in addition to manslaughter.

The 2nd-degree murder charge carries a max sentence of 40 years. The third-degree murder charge carries a max sentence of 25 years. The manslaughter charge carries a max sentence of 10 years.
The prosecution made its case against Chauvin from multiple angles. They called fellow police officers to attest to the jury that Chauvin’s use of force was excessive. Several medical experts testified that Floyd died from lack of oxygen. Bystanders & eyewitnesses from the May 25, 2020, incident were also called.

Chauvin’s defense team tried to argue that his use of force was reasonable and that Floyd potentially died due to poor health or drug use. Ultimately, the jury sided with the prosecution’s case.
Floyd was 46 years old & a father of five. In March, the city of Minneapolis agreed to pay a $27M settlement to Floyd’s family over his death.

or in this case transition from CEO to advisor of the company you built. While Stitch Fix stock has taken a hit recently, the adding of a new CEO with the founder shifting her role to that of advisor to her own company is one way entrepreneurs can "sell" or transition within your business to the seat of "owner" and not employee.

From article:
-Stitch Fix founder Katrina Lake is stepping down as CEO.
-She founded the online styling service a decade ago and took the company public in 2017.
-As of Aug. 1, she will be succeeded by Stitch Fix president Elizabeth Spaulding.

Lake founded the online styling service a decade ago and took the company public in 2017.

🤔 starting a business and seeking a grant or loan? Typically investors invest in an existing business, not an idea alone. And they invest in the entrepreneur abilities as well. An idea alone is not fundable (in general). You have to begin actually making money and prove you are worthy as an entrepreneur to carry an idea out and have it make money. So you have to be willing to invest your own money, and/or time into it, or find a private investor (like family or friends) who is willing to front startup capital. But otherwise funding just an idea is ( possible but) very difficult to find and often very competitive if you do find someone willing to invest in ur idea alone.

So you got an idea but no money? You gotta be inventive, creative and sacrificial. You gotta figure out how to start making some money off ur idea or at least start getting customers/users. This is when you gotta "hustle" and "grind".

There are lots of posts about people with new "LLCs" wanting to find a business grant. No one funds a LLC they fund ideas that make money.

"Fund my business" doesn't mean "I got an LLC, so that should be enough". It means fund my actual idea that I produced that is making money and/or has users.
