Spent last Sunday getting nautical and having fun with friends as we cruised the Potomac for the first-ever RoundTable Boat Party.

It was a perfect Fall day to enjoy some adult beverages, charcuterie and great company. It was also the first time meeting some people in-person, even though we have been working together for years in a virtual, post-covid environment.

Leading up to the event, I requested that everyone contribute to the boat party playlist and submit three of their favorite songs; any genre, any time period, just needed to be a reason why it holds favorite song status.

It couldn’t have been a better ice-breaker, trying to guess which song went with which person. Hearing the backstory of why they were selected and then discovering the different memories invoked amongst the group.

BTW - Wonderwall easily had the most collective memories associated with it, with three of those specifically involving late nights at a local watering hole, in "fill in the blank" European country, where the entire establishment broke out into a giant singalong when Wonderwall came over the speakers.

Couldn’t have been a more perfect afternoon and can’t wait until the next one… because it has been made very clear to me by those involved, that this is going to be an annual tradition.

I appreciate you all and thank you for blurring the lines of work and personal life. Consequences of surrounding yourself with amazing people.

Once again, the Crusader Walk was HUGE success! Thanks to the generosity of our families, friends, and community, OLOH set a new record for donations and exceeded this year’s goal by almost 20%!!

Nikki was part of the rockstar planning team that coordinated EVERYTHING behind the scenes. Rowan and Evie raised a bunch of money and both won prizes for their fundraising efforts. And I did my part in cheering on the kids, throwing colored powder on everyone, and sticking around for general clean-up. Also, proud to have supported the event with an official sponsorship.

Incredible day and amazing Crusader community.

Final Stop on the Alexandria tour, Chalkboard Wings & BBQ to see my guy C.J. Cross.

We went to O'Connell together, caught up recently at our 25th reunion and it really doesn't take much to talk me into some BBQ. Next time I'm in the area...

Took a while, but was finally in the area. CJ happened to arrive a minute after me, so we got to catch up some more on family and life. Eventually, I crushed some brisket, ribs, wings and mac & cheese. It was all FANTASTIC!!

Need to get back out this way again soon.

Next stop in Alexandria was to see Dr. Amy Crawley at Capital Chiropractic

Best time to get your back adjusted is after you've had all your muscles loosened up from an amazing massage.

And while I'm still a huge work in progress, Dr. Amy has definitely helped reduce the computer back curve and improved my posture.

(She'll also help you plan a Disney vacation)

Next stop was Alexandria Massage Therapy and Wellness Center for a long overdue, deep tissue massage with the incredible Ms. Reyna Smith. Cannot recommend her enough. Just tell her where to focus and let her go to work, chasing knots with multiple techniques.

Reyna is like a palm reader for the entire body. "Your calf is tight here because you're overcompensating for a flat foot, which is why you have this hip pain here, and it's pulling these muscles giving you back pain here and here, and btw, do you have shoulder tightness here too?" (of course I did).

Reyna was too shy for a pic, so fair warning, don't judge a book by it's cover when you meet this quiet, tiny, little masseuse. She is fully capable of putting you in tears from weakness leaving your body.

Spent the past few days visiting some of my favorite Alexandria people, starting with Remi Rory, founder of MNE Coaching. The families met up for a solid couple hours of keeping the kids busy and we got to catch up on life and business. Nothing but good vibes when Remi is around.
