After my careers as a Wall Street lawyer, divorce attorney, and homemaker/homeschooler/volunteer, I chose a profession that uses those very experiences, talents and skills to serve my community - as a Financial Advisor. It combines my love of helping people advance and grow, my addiction to numbers, and my gifting of finding creative solutions. I love watching small business owners keep more of th

eir hard-earned money. Being a well-rounded Financial Advisor means that my clients and I can talk candidly about the many areas that money influences - income, small business ownership, money management, spending on lifestyle & child-raising, savings plans, 401(k) decisions, large purchases, college/weddings/grandchildren, investment management, financial planning, etc. My goal is to Build Financially Strong Families - and thereby, make my community and the next generation stronger. A financially strong family builds and strengthens the community. And, this in turn hopefully produces a more productive and wiser next generation whose work-ethic and sense of personal responsibility provide additional opportunities and freedom for an even wider circle.

A Brief Bio

Theresa Markham, JD, is a consummate nerd (with hobbies that usually include numbers) with Lexington Avenue Capital Management (fb.com/lexingtonavecapital).

She started in the brokerage business over 30 years ago, graduated Fordham Law in 1996, and worked for Morgan Stanley. At her own law firm, she counseled clients on how to manage their difficult legal and financial situations and evaluate their choices.

After several years of legal practice, she shifted gears to homeschool their now-college-student daughter, volunteer extensively for an arts non-profit, tutor other people's children in math/SATs, bake brownies for the neighbors, and of course, spoil her family. In her spare time, she devours books, makes intricate quilts, and gardens.

Now at Lexington Avenue Capital full-time, she absolutely loves being able to combine her Wall Street roots and legal experience with her desire to help clients learn wise investment habits.
