So, I still have almost 40 tax returns to finish by October. Ha! I'm going to complete 7 of them next Wed, we are all happy about that. A side pro tip..... Please don't wait to file if you know you'll owe! The penalties add up very quickly.

Wow. A new record, 41 extensions filed today. I am half dead, which means I'm still half alive! ❤😂 Made it to last call in plenty of time though, happy to report! There was a tech glitch with IRS early morning on the original filing deadline of April 17 this year. Because of this fact, they have extended the actual deadline to April 18. Which means, if you couldn't file or pay on the 17th, don't worry! The system is fixed now, and is back up and running. There will be no issues with anyone who files by the 18th. Happy spring everyone!

Hello everyone! I have never been this busy this early in the season, so I'm blaming that on the fact I haven't posted in a while. There's much happening, between the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which affected 2017 very little, and the extremely late changes that were reinstated federally on February 9. We here in Oregon now have to wait for our state legislature to decide whether or not to tie into these changes, which is expected to take until mid March. I'm sure the same is happening in other states, but I'm thankful that my very many out of state clients weren't affected. And I missed getting my huge coffee purchase in January, too busy. A good problem to have though 😀 Portland Oregon clients - don't forget to pay the city Arts Tax. They seem to not send out reminders anymore, and it's due by April 17th this year. Crypto currency software installed. Wow what a complicated thing. Not the software, just the record keeping requirements on the taxpayer. I'm still fascinated.

As the deadline to E-File returns approaches, I've been trying to finish up as many as possible. I've also been learning a ton about digital currency. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and all the others. I'm in the process of installing software to help with the specifics of crypto currency accounting. I'm fascinated!

Feeling good right now - helping someone get caught up going back to 2009! Also trying to finish up a few late files before E-File goes down for the winter. E-File will close between late November and late January, so get those returns in everyone!

The count down has begun for personal extension deadline. I officially have about 12 more days to finish all that I'm currently working on. The next two weeks should be really fun 😂 My love to you all ❤

Today marks a couple significant milestones! I am officially 45, woo hoo! I also achieved a goal I've been striving for for several years now. An annual gross sales figure. I surpassed it July 10th. I'm very pleased! A big thank you to my lovely neighborhood place, the Rose and Thistle, for always being so gracious and letting me eat, drink, and work in the corner.

Still plugging away at my extension files. At this rate I might be finished by January 1st 😂 I have also been working on continuing education. I just finished a class on the taxability of crowd funding, fascinating.
