After an evaluation of his long-term personal and professional goals, Joel left the force to serve others in a different way. Joel grew up in Urbandale and is a graduate of Iowa State University. He and his wife, Angela, have four children. In his spare time, he enjoys swinging on swings and playing on the slides at the park. Of course, his daughters Natalie and Charlotte tag along on these trips too. You can also find Joel relaxing and watching sports with his twins, Greta and Cooper. And on the rare occasion that all four of his children are napping at the same time, Joel himself likes to sneak naps in on Sunday afternoons with football on in the background. This might be why he admits he cannot live without Diet Mt. Joel believes the Des Moines area is a great place to raise a family and he looks forward to serving its residents.
