Meet Senior Associate, Mekenzie Ludwig, MSFA! 👋
Mekenzie has been with the firm for two years and performs tax and accounting services for both business and individual clients. Learn more about Mekenzie below!
Q: What inspired you to join SEK?
A: I’ve known of SEK since high school, long before I even understood what accounting was. I met many SEK accountants through various organizations, which was my first sign of how integrated SEK is with the community. As I planned to move my career closer to home, SEK was a natural choice.
Q: What makes SEK different in the way we serve clients?
A: You’re never limited to the knowledge of a single individual. Our clients gain access to an entire team full of professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise ready to help with whatever comes their way. Even if you primarily work with one person, we constantly share insights and validate solutions with colleagues across all our office locations. No matter how unique or unusual your situation may seem, we likely have “a guy for that.”
Q: How do you contribute to teamwork and mentoring at SEK?
A: I’m always willing to help, whether for a quick question or to assist with a project. The desire to support others comes naturally, and I enjoy being a resource. I recently served as an intern Personal Transition Coach, and it’s always exciting to help guide someone new into the accounting world.
Q: What's something about you that people may be surprised to learn?
A: I grew up as a Navy brat and spent my early childhood in Okinawa, Japan. While that may not be surprising to those who know me, it played a significant role in shaping who I am today. From the age of 2 to 10, Okinawa was home and my closest “family” were those stationed with us. Growing up immersed in military life and Okinawan culture taught me the importance of adaptability, a positive outlook, celebrating diversity, and the strength that comes from supporting one another.
Q: Coffee or tea? Early bird or night owl?
A: Neither. Give me a crisp Coke instead. Night owl all the way.
Q: What's a piece of advice you'd give to someone starting their career?
A: Embrace everything. Now is the time to experience as much as you can so you can discover what interests you. Ask all your questions and don’t be afraid because everyone has been where you are and is willing to help.
We appreciate Mekenzie and all she does for our team and clients!
